They were sitting in the living room having coffee and cookies, as Jenna and Ray were trying their best to be nice to Emma’s parents but the situation was obviously strained. Jenna had deliberately avoided all family gatherings in Dallas for years. Not that she didn’t like the Ewing family but because it had been too painful for her to see Bobby. She knew that he was Ray’s brother so she’d let him go and visit them every now and then. But she had stayed away. At first Miss Ellie and Clayton&nbsp; had visited them in Europe. Probably more to see Lucas than her, but then they had gotten too sick to travel. She’d attended Miss Ellie’s funeral, after all the woman had been like a second mother to her. But then Bobby had gotten married again and after that she’d avoided all family functions.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; She had even missed out on JR’s funeral. Not because she disliked the man really, but because she didn’t want to be confronted with Bobby. She knew it was just too painful to see her first love. It was bad enough that she saw him every time she looked at their son. Yes she had let Ray adopt her kids, so on paper everything was nice and tidy. She and Ray had three kids, Charlie, Lucas and Katie. But deep down in her heart she knew that it was really only Katie who was Ray’s biological child. Not that Ray had ever treated the kids any differently. He seemed to love all of their kids the same. He did have a weak spot for Maggie though. Probably because she reminded him of Donna in the same way as Lucas reminded her of Bobby. But unlike Bobby, Ray hadn’t given up on his daughter. He had insisted on being a part of Maggie’s life and of being a father to her, whereas Bobby had just given up all his rights to Lucas and even let his brother adopt him. There were times when Jenna resented him for that even though she knew it had been the best thing for her and Ray’s marriage. Still to be confronted with Bobby’s wife was awkward for Jenna. But from the way Jenna spoke now she got the feeling that it had more to do with the other woman being jealous of her marriage. Yet when she looked at Jenna and Ray she couldn’t for the life of her figure out why, as it seemed to her like they had the picture perfect marriage. So no matter of how much she tried Ann couldn’t figure out why Jenna cared that much about Bobby.
