But Harris Ryland was too slick to get cornered like that. “Alright, it’s about Pam’s accident. I wanna know who paid you to drive out that truck in front of my wife’s car!”“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Harris said nonchalantly.“Yes you do,” Bobby said harshly, “and don’t try to weasel yourself out of this one. We have proof that ties you to that car crash. So if you don’t cooperate I won’t hesitate to turn that information over to the police.”“Yeah like they would care after all this time,” Harris said.“I mean it Harris,” Bobby said as he grabbed hold of the other man’s shirt collar. “This is very important to me so we can do this the hard way or the easy way. It’s your choice.”“My mother warned me that you had been sniffing around that accident,” Harris said.“And?” Bobby prompted, as he eased his grip of the man before he choked. “Please tell me what you know. Pam is still scared that someone is after her and I don’t want the woman I love to leave town because she is...”Harris smirked when he heard that, “The woman you love?”“Damn it Harris!” Bobby cursed as he pointed his finger at the man. “If someone had done this to Ann you would have wanted to know too.”“Alright Ewing, you win,” Harris said. “I will tell you.”“Good so who paid you to hit my wife’s car?” Bobby asked.“You mean your car,” Harris said.“Yes but my wife was driving it,” Bobby said.“Well she wasn’t the target,” Harris revealed.Bobby’s eyes widened when he heard that, as realization struck him like lightning, “You mean to tell me that someone hired you to kill me?”“Bingo,” Harris said. “So the question is not who wanted to kill your wife. But who wanted to kill you.”Bobby gave Harris a suspicious look, “Are you trying to scare me?”“No,” Harris shook his head before he started to explain. “The man who paid me was really after your brother JR. He wanted to hurt JR for making a deal with him that got some of his men killed in Saudi Arabia...”“BD Calhoun!” Bobby exclaimed, as he put the pieces together. “But he’s dead.”“Yeah so you have nothing to fear from him,” Harris said before he laughed, “It’s ironic how things worked out though. I mean if I hadn’t meddled in your life you wouldn’t be standing in my way now.”Bobby’s eyes narrowed, “What do you mean?”“You wouldn’t have married Annie if you hadn’t divorced Pam.”“That’s true,” Bobby said.“So do you still love her?” Harris asked and watching Bobby's reaction told him everything he needed to know.  “Because if you do you understand how I feel about Annie.”“That’s not the same thing,” Bobby said harshly. “You are incapable of loving anyone!”“And you are a god damn hypocrite Ewing,” Harris said.“I think this conversation is over,” Bobby said.“Almost, there’s just one more thing Ewing, if Pam’s the woman you really love, then how come you’re not with her?” Harris taunted Bobby and his remark earned him a fist straight into his face, as Bobby hit him. The crowd gasped when they saw that, as the two men had managed to catch everyone’s attention but neither one of the men cared to explain what their fight had been all about. Instead they just parted ways and Ann rushed up to Harris to tend to his bleeding nose.</blockquote>
