She says, “Come in,” to a light knock on the door while sitting up.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Ben comes in carrying a try with breakfast pfollowed by Lilly and Michael. Ben puts the tray in front of her in the bed. Michael climbs into bed with her from the other side. “Happy Mother’s Day,” Ben announces.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Lilly hands her a card. Pamela tears up reading, “‘To the best mother ever.’”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Ben says, “Don’t worry. Amelie helped us cook you breakfast.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“It smells delicious.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Steven walks in next, “Mornin’ momma. Happy Mother’s Day.” He sets a huge bouquet of flowers in a crystal vase on her dresser.</p><p></p><p></p><p>“They’re gorgeous. Thank you. Thank you all. This is just wonderful. Now you didn’t forget your grandma, right?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Jay walks in saying, “Nope, we stopped there first.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Jay hands her a jewelry box. She opens it. It’s a charm bracket. She’s so exited to and declares “Its so beautiful.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Jay says, “Those are our birth stones, the five charms. Then the cowboy on the bucking bronco is daddy. And the scales of justice is grandpa. The microphone has an ‘A’ on it for Grandma. The three little caricatures, those are you and your brothers.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“It’s beautiful. Thank you.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“It’s from all of us. You mentioned a charm bracket. I hope it’s what you wanted.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“And then some. Thank you so much.” She kisses each one.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>The Ewing’s ride across South Fork, Michael with Pamela, including Sue Ellen, Ellie, Anthony, Bo and Adrian. They arrive at a picnic site by a stream. Amelie and Randall are setting up lunch as they arrive.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Underneath the clear blue sky Jay and Adrian play Steven and Bo at badminton as the family watches and Amelie and Randall clean up from lunch.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>In the evening, the sky full of oranges, the family gathers up by the house around a campfire. John Ross and Jay play guitars and sing. To discuss working with RamCo.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“He’s not my brother.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“He’s willing to discuss it.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Then discuss it. Bo continues to pull the pipe out of ground. He says, “Diego got called away.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>John Ross stands and watches Bo work. “You gonna give me a hand?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“No you’re doing a great job.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Serious?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Yeah why?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Bo stops. “What’s with you?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Me. I’ll kick your ass right over the state line you piece of shit. Elena Ramos! Mateo just told me you meet with her! You weren’t Florida wrapping some things up. But you’re on a short leash now.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“I’m not on any leash.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Try me and I’ll hang you from it bitch!”</p><p></p><p></p><p>John Ross gets in the truck and drives away.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Ellie sits back at the board table at Ewing Industries. “Sure we could get Richard Channing to agree to sell his sixteen percent of the company to you.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Robert says, “And keep the company totally in the hands of the family.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“The family,” Ellie says with a bite.</p><p></p><p></p><p>“In return you’ll get ahead in controlling China’s energy industry.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“In turn?” Ellie looks over him like she’s sizing him up.</p><p></p><p></p><p>“That’s right. I’ll agree to sell Trident all of RamCo.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Oh how nice of you. All we have to do is say that Katherine Wentworth’s bastard is a Ewing.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Steeling himself Robert says, “I am.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“You’re Elena Ramos’s bitch. Your mother’s money went to the Barnes Ewing Foundation as she went into hiding. What ever money she has wasn’t enough to help you finance RamCo, so Elena financed it.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Listen that’s the deal. Take it or leave it.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“We’ll leave it. Have a nice day Mr. Wentworth.” Ellie stands and walks out of the room, leaving Robert with Paul, Roger and Sam.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Pamela gathers every one on the front law for a photo shoot, Sue Ellen sitting in a chair with John Ross holding Pamela and Ellie holding Anthony behind her. Jay and Steven next to Pamela, Ben and Lilly in front. Michael in Sue Ellen’s lap. Pamela waves over Mateo and Roger to join them.</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Are you sure?” Mateo asks.</p><p></p><p></p><p>John Ross says, “You’re family.”</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Pamela watches as the family portrait is hung above the living room fire place. She smiles. “What do you think daddy? That’s your family. I wish Ali could be there. It’s amazing how he’s been there for me. Remember when you first introduced me to Roger. You said he’s the best financial mind there is. He’s been there for us too.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>John Ross enters the room. “Who are you talking to?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“My daddy. I think he’d be so proud of this picture. With your mother, and his grandchildren.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Funny how it worked out. JR and Cliff’s rivalry end with the one woman they both loved and shared grandchildren. Other than Ellie and Anthony, I think Cliff would be very happy about this portrait.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“I think so too. Maybe not JR so much.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“I’d like to think he mellowed out.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>From the side Pamela hugs John Ross and lays her head on his shoulder.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Pamela says, staring up at the portrait, “I think we should have included Adrian.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Why? Are things that serious?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“I think they’re headed that way.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Well the next family portrait.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“The next one,” John Ross agrees.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Outside by the pool all the kids play, some friends joining, including Greg and Adrian. Paul and Jenny show up and Pamela and John Ross walk out from the back of the house. Sue Ellen sits with Michael bouncing on her knee. Ellie, Anthony, Mateo and Roger play cards. Randall replaces Ellie’s drink. Amelie and Diego sit and talk off to the side.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Early in the morning John Ross and his team gather in his study, Mateo (security), Roger (investing), Anthony (special projects) and Jay (information).</p><p></p><p></p><p>Roger says, “Robert Wentworth is suing Ewing Industries for a third of the company in compensation for his mother’s share.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“What?” John Ross says. “How can he do that? When Ewing Industries acquires Ewing Global, which was Barnes Global, the company was bankrupt. We arranged a settlement with all the parties, including the estate of Katherine Wentworth.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“And that money was given to the foundation,” Anthony says.</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Because no one knew anything about Robert. Isn’t his suite then with the foundation?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“They’re mentioned in it as well. He’s certainly not entitled to one third. He’s making the assumption that Ewing Industries is nothing more than Barnes Global. But I suggest we settle with him. Or at least offer a settlement.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Cash. Fine. Do it. I suppose he was cheated out of what was his mother’s.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“He’s making the case that Katherine was cheated out of more than that, first by her half brother and sister, presenting a will that clearly wouldn’t allow her mother to leave them anything, and then by the Ewing’s stealing all of that, on which to build Ewing Industries.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“I don’t know about Aunt Pam and Cliff Barnes original situation, but they were compensated too. I knew he was going to be a torn in my side.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Mateo says, “JR did leave him a trust fund. He isn’t entitled to anything more from the Ewing side as your father was very clear and purposeful in that as to who got what.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Just make him go away.”</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Jay walks into the hunting lodge to find Adrian in a panic at his computer. “What’s wrong?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Frantically attempting to address some issue Adrian says, “They’re hacking Ewing Alternative.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“They? What? Who? For what?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“The Ewing Process I’m sure. I’m blocking them but . . .”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“Who’s them?”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“I think it’s the Chinese.”</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Robert walks into his office. His mother turns around from behind his desk, “Beautiful view,” Katherine says.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Sue Ellen and Pamela watch the oranges and grays fill the sky over South Fork as smoke pours up over the ranch.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>John Ross arrives in his truck to join a team, including Diego, attempting to put out a raging forest fire. Diego yells at him to get out of there. He says, “This is my ranch! If anyone’s gonna risk their life to save it, it’s me!”</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Mateo runs into the hunting cabin. “Come on let’s go. There’s a wild fire headed this way.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Adrian, still fighting at his computer yells, “I can’t.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Mateo pulls at Jay. “Come on.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>“I can’t leave Adrian.”</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Ellie over sees a team gut the Barnes House and fill up large moving trucks. “Careful! Just make sure everything’s safe. Hurry up!”</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>The trucks roll out. She looks back at the front door. “Good riddance.” She then gets into the back of her limousine and drives away, the wild fire looming down on the Barnes House.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>A security guard walks out onto the balcony. “Mrs. Ewing, we’ve been told to evacuate South Fork.
