It did work well in season 9 as the cousins were duking it out, but they could have made it so that the two of them had some other past connection and hatred, perhaps something to do with Caress and Zach Powers' first wife and what not, and give that as a reason for Sable to antagonize Alexis, rather than the Paulsen fictive past transgression of Alexis sleeping with Jason and supposedly that destroying their marriage (which seemed quite solid at the beginning of The Colbys).</blockquote>
