Northrop had been off Days of Our Lives for three years by the time of his return, so it wasn’t a case of bringing a hot daytime star over to the show to attract ratings. His main connection to the past (Fallon) wasn’t even on Dynasty at this point (bar a couple of guest appearances). And then to have the misfortune of being paired with Amanda, just as she’s been recast and soon to be shown the door.
