[QUOTE="Jock Ewing Fan, post: 327120, member: 40536"] I am reading about rumors about a Doctor Who multiverse. I suppose it is similar to Marvel and maybe upcoming DC RTD has expressed such an interest in at least one past interview. I have mixed feelings. My favorite is still the 1963- 1986 classic series Doctors 1-6, didn't care at all for seasons 24-25-26. The relaunch under RTD was superb. My only real quibble was that The Doctor Master relationship should have been revealed as brothers, which was the intention during the Pertwee-Delgado years, from what I read in various interviews. "Planet of the Spiders" would have been the story where it was revealed, but Delgado died, suddenly, and the Master couldn't be in the Pertwee finale. The Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi eras were ones that I enjoyed. PC was highly underrated, and let down by substandard scripts. I was disappointed in the 50th anniversary show except for Tom Baker's return. I really enjoyed the TV special "An Adventure in Time and Space", which I thought genuinely represented the joy, the wonder, the fun of Doctor Who. David Bradley was excellent in recreating William Hartnell's Doctor, and it was a joy to see him return in Capaldi's finale. I suppose what I am saying is that there was a time when a Doctor Who multiverse would have been a real thrill. While I have faith in RTD and his work, I don't know how I feel now, given the changes of the last few years. It would be a huge understatement to say that I have disliked the CB/JW era. It is my hope that the new direction succeeds and I can return as a fan. If not, nothing can ever erase the memories of the show that I once loved, and nothing can ever change my respect for the cast and crew that cultivated the show with such love and care, especially William Hartnell, who will always be the First Doctor, no matter how anyone tries to rewrite it.
