International stars sometimes appear in French miniseries. David Soul was one of the male leads in “Sandra, Princesse Rebelle” (Englsh title: Sandra, the Rebel Princess") in 1995. Here is the plot for "Sandra, princesse rebelle": In the 1990s, Sandra Francœur—a midwife at a Paris maternity hospital who leads a quiet life with her husband, Pierre, and their son, Stéphane—discovers that she is the daughter of the royal couple, Michel and Natacha Arkadine, who were assassinated in 1968 during the overthrow of the Kroënian monarchy. Given her husband's lack of commitment, she decides to take her destiny as a princess into her own hands. To do so, she must first earn the trust of her people. She then requests state subsidies from the French government to address the problems facing her kingdom. She falls in love with Ivan, but her status as a princess sparks the basest jealousies: a certain Zoltan Kouros (played by David Soul) —an immensely wealthy banker originally from Kroënia—demands that she marry his brother, Simon; otherwise, she will never see her son again. The entire series is available on YouTube: Tim Robbins also appeared in a French miniseries, most recently in 2026 in "Quelqu’un devrait interdire les dimanches après-midi" (English title: "Someone should ban Sunday afternoons"). This is the plot of the miniseries: Louise—an ambitious film enthusiast—dreams of developing her very first film, a story about an unconventional romance, and moves from Limoges to Paris to pursue this goal. She has already secured a scholarship and a spot in the mentorship program of an Oscar-winning screenwriter (played by Tim Robbins). However, shortly after her arrival, her dream begins to falter; her meeting with her mentor does not go as she had hoped. To make matters worse, she finds herself having to make do with accommodation in a noisy hostel dormitory. Fortunately, however, a spare room is quickly found in the shared apartment of Charlie—a waitress—and her friend Nelson. The two of them initiate Louise into a weekly ritual designed to successfully ward off the melancholy of Sunday afternoons.
