Many happy returns to the iconic actor, who portrayed Sue Ellen so convincingly and professionally! Linda looks more like 75, than her true age. Linda outside Southfork Ranch, during filming for the 2004 reunion THE RETURN TO SOUTHFORK. Sue Ellen is in a hospital detoxification ward. She covers her eyes, when Dusty comes to visit. The man himself J.R. arrives soon after; (a scene from season 8, DVD-9, 'The Dream Season', 1985 - '86): Dusty: "You have nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to be afraid of anymore. Sue Ellen, I’m here because I love you. I’m here to keep that promise I made to help you. No matter what it takes, no matter how long it takes. Because I want to see you healthy again. Because I want you!" Sue Ellen: "I want a drink." Dusty: "Oh God! No darling. A drink would kill you." Sue Ellen: "Kill me!" Dusty: "Sue Ellen, no. Don’t be like this. Just hang on. Hang on to me." They hug. J.R. enters the ward and reaches boiling point, very quickly. J.R. takes off his Stetson: "Farlow! What the hell are you doing here? Let go of my wife, you hear?" He manages to stop Dusty hugging Sue Ellen. A fight is brewing. Dusty: "Settle down, J.R. I’m warning you!" J.R.: "You bastard. I ought to tear your head off." Dusty: "You stay away from me and you stay away from Sue Ellen." He pushes the oil baron away. J.R. crashes into medical trolleys. J.R.: "Listen, is this the way you’re helping her? Huh? Is this the way you’re helping her? You’re a genius, you are." Dusty is punched by J.R. and then lands onto a nearby bed. J.R. "Now you get out of here, or I’ll kill you! I swear it." Dusty gets off the bed: "I love her and I’m never going to let you hurt her again, you ......" Round three of the altercation is about to start but Sue Ellen rises between them. Sue Ellen screams: "No, no!" She collapses onto the bed. A doctor and orderlies stop the fight.
