So to all my Soapchat friends in the northern hemisphere enjoying hot chocolate in front of a fire spare a thought for those of us downunder. Since Christmas we've had repetitive days exceeding over 35°C (95°F). Just yesterday it nudged 39.2°C (102.56°F). That's everyday folks. And only today did we finally have some cloud cover. Overnight temperatures have not dropped below 20°C (68°F). Next week is going to be a repeat judging by the forecast.

Cannot imagine what my energy bill is going to be like next time. Have a great 2019 everyone

It's not 102 (heaven forbid), but it was 85 yesterday where I live in Florida, which is about eight degrees above normal. So I feel ya. The only ice around here is in our drinks. I'm not complaining though--it's not "unpleasantly" hot until it hits 90 or so.

How are you doing? Surviving? I hear it's not letting up. I'd still swap it for winter in Ireland any day though!

The heatwave is relentless. Yesterday was the big one. At 6pm last night (Friday) the mercury hit 41.2°C (106.16°F). But, spare a thought for my mates in Tarcoola, South Australia. Yesterday it hit an eye watering 49.1°C (120.38°F). We have a small reprieve today before the temperature gauge begins its slow creep again next week.
