US Series L.A Law sequel in the works

I don't know about the reboot, It will depend on the writing. The tone may need to be more serious than the original, something
like the Law and Order franchise. It will be fun if some of the original cast can make guest appearances.

Well it's a moot point now, because they've opted not to pick up the pilot. ABC gave them the (elevator) shaft.

Arnie and Jonathan were the senior partners of the firm, now called Becker Rollins, in the pilot. Jill Eikenberry also appeared as Ann Kelsey, now a judge. I’m hoping it leaks somewhere and we can see it.

I remember one of Jonathan’s scenes in the later years, where he is upset that he hasn’t been offered a partnership yet. He ultimately threatens to quit and the partners are divided on whether or not they should cave. The last scene in the episode is Leland walking into Jonathan’s office and quietly congratulating him on becoming a partner. And Jonathan just sits there, silently, thinking about his Pyrrhic victory. A great episode.

i'll watch it now there's a Married with Children one as well but in f... Animation form my question is simply this Uh Why? i don't mind it coming back i'm all for it but uh why in animation form? Hulu i think is doing it

Yep, it could go there - the original series and the reboot, as Disney hold the 20th Television library.

L.A Law was made by 20th Television.

Depends on if anything needs to be cleared for the original. Same reason why The Tracey Ullman Show isn't on Disney+ or been released on DVD etc, although 20th Television produced the show - a reason given was music clearance.

(I know In Living Color unlike Ullman got a DVD release, but 20th Century Fox hacked the episodes to bits to remove any music which incurred expensive fees, hence why the best sketches like the Snow and Crystal Waters parodies etc are eliminated entirely.)

I really wish the likes of the Golden Globes or the Emmy's would introduce an award for best television series intro which gives producers something to strive for.

There is already an Emmy for OUTSTANDING MAIN TITLE DESIGN since 1997. Prior to that it was called "Outstanding Individual Achievement in Graphic Design and Title Sequences" or "Outstanding Graphic Design and Title Sequences".

For the 1986-87 season for which L.A. LAW was eligible the NBC show STINGRAY won. The title music was also composed by Mike Post!

I'm amazed a network and not a streaming service thought of bringing back LA Law, after all networks still continue to make most of their money from ads that only care about the demos. Everyone of the demo audience that made LA Law successful in the 80's is now over 50 years old, so I don't understand what kind of audience ABC was trying to target.

That's the dilemma with all these reboots. Trying to capitalise on the original audience and at the same time trying to make it fresh and new. I'm not sure that's a circle that can be squared.
