Stephanie Beacham and Tracey Scoggins particularly liked each other, so that may have played a role in bringing Monica into DYNASTY. Jeff and Monica had more of a flirtation than a romance (like Fallon and Adam in Season 3). John James claims he nixed the incest plotline, refusing to do it, but ABC in 1989 was unlikely to permit a full-on incest story, and Paulsen planned to make Jeff and Monica not brother-and-sister anyway. My problem with the Tanner story was the casting. I guess, in retrospect, he was okay -- soulful and raspy-voiced. But I might've wanted somebody else.
