Not only a great sportsman but also a great advocate of human rights and supporter of young people. Very sad news that he has passed away.

Sad news, I was too young to see him play but always knew who he was - my Dad always said he was the greatest he ever watched on TV playing football, The 1st superstar I rememebr was Johan Cruyff - but Pele was 1st

I think that the outpouring of love, affection and admiration sum up the man and what a loss he will be to the World of Football

He transcended Football and was a great ambassador for the game and didnt get paid silly salaries either back then, true class and a gentleman on and off the pitch

No one will come close, one of my fav pics of him with Bobby Moore from 1970

I was surprised to read that Pele’s mother is still going strong at 100 years old.

I know
I had a patient once in her 80s who always used to go on about here mother and everyone thought she was confused, making it up and has dementia or delerium

One day her mum walks into the ward, 100 years old in black high heels and wearing her fur coat! We were all so wrong!!
