Hi Pete, thanks for all your answers this week, I've enjoyed reading them. I hope your week in the limelight has been a pleasant one. I have a few final questions before your spotlight is dimmed:
- You have described some great jobs that you have done but what was the worst job you’ve had?
- What do you miss about life 10 years ago?
- What do you like but are usually embarrassed to admit?
- Other than work or home, where do you spend most of your time?
Hi
@Angela Channing , thanks for your questions. I've really enjoyed this week and going back over some great memories.
1. The worst job I had was probably working in the bulb factory in Holland. Although we had amazing times living on a holiday camp it was the coldest winter and there was no heating in the factory. So we were up at about 0500, all dark and cold, then driven to the factory where all the flower bulbs came through on conveyor belts and we all stood in lines either wide taking all the mud and dirt off them, they then dropped into crates which were then stacked up. We had 30 minutes for lunch and the radio station played the same 10 songs every day. It really was a terrible job - but the experience of living in Holland was something I will always have fond memories of.
2. You know I really miss the days before bloody smart phones. People spoke to each other, called each other and didn't have their heads stuck facing downwards looking at their screens. I see it every day here, people on holiday, a family out for a meal and they are all looking at their phones and no one is communicating with each other. I never take my phone out with me, if someone needs me I'll get back to them, but life is too precious and smart phones have turned people into zombies. Nowadays, instead of asking what special offers bars and restaurants have on, the first question is always "what's the wifi password?" - makes my blood boil.
3. oooh....crap TV - I can't do stuff like Kardashians or similar, but I do love shows like Below Deck and am a massive Big Brother fan, both the UK & US. To be honest I get a lot of stick for still loving Dallas, but really don't care, I've never been someone interested in being in the "in" crowd lol.
4. I'm ashamed to say it's in the bars here. Not always drinking, but in the winter season we all meet up, have a coffee and a chat. During the winter there isn't a lot to do - even more so this year. But we also spend a lot of time taking the dogs out and having a good run on the beach - the dogs that is, we are usually far too full up on fresh air to run anywhere lol.
