Message: <blockquote data-quote="Daniel Avery" data-source="post: 257042" data-attributes="member: 27">I think the viewer felt the choice Paige had to make in the cliffhanger was kind of predictable, since we all knew Greg was an important lead character whose portrayer had an iron-clad contract, whereas Ted Melcher (whose portrayer I mentally refer to as Mr. Judith Light since I have trouble remembering how to spell his last name) was a male recurring player who had come out of nowhere on a show that loved to write male recurring players who came out of nowhere and ended up dying gruesome deaths once their evil plots were foiled.  Greg vs. Ted didn't look like much of a choice to those who followed soaps and knew how these things work.</blockquote>
