So, finally there's going to be a show about the porn industry during the seventies.

It is really good. It's my new obsession now that Twin Peaks is over...<<sobs>>...

1970s New York looks fantastic onscreen. Franco and Gyllenhaal are great, but so too are all the supporting cast. It does that really interesting David Simon thing of flicking between different groups who all share in a common theme.

And in one episode they all ended up in Vinnie's bar and somehow that looked very strange.

I've watched the first 8 episodes and it's still very much about pimps and hookers, can't wait to see how the movie industry develops.
It's amazing that America (of all places) struggled with the concept of commercial porn, but I guess I'm looking from the outside in.

I watched the finale last night and with it The Deuce walks into the arms of time...

The final scene shouldn't work but it does. Despite how horrible and grim their world could be, the makers showed huge affection for it and the characters. It's a show I'm going to miss.

And in one episode they all ended up in Vinnie's bar and somehow that looked very strange.

There's a nice little payoff to everyone who flitted through Vinnie and Abby's bar at some point.
