Looking below the cut by some distance The Drowning did incredibly well for Channel 5 - staying above 5m for 4 episodes of the stripped drama. I wonder if C5 doing this kind of drama could force the main channels hands a bit to find more.(Barb disclaimer - these ratings are publically available at TVZone, which is my source for this data).I must add that Death in Paradise&#039;s popularity is a complete mystery to me - I remember seeing early series and thinking it was the biggest pile of shite I&#039;d ever seen on mainstream telly (and there&#039;s been some woeful stuff) - I suppose it&#039;s family friendly nature and relative mindlessness play in it&#039;s favour but I&#039;ll never get it.</blockquote>
