Was Jenna supposed to kill Pam?

Is it known how Pam would have left Dallas at the end of season 10 if Patrick Duffy hadn't returned? As far as I know (but I'm not entirely sure), Victoria Principal informed the producers two years ahead that she would be leaving Dallas after season 10. This would have given them plenty of time to prepare her exit, and an article from a West German newspaper in the spring of 1986 makes me wonder if they were actually laying the groundwork for Pam's departure even in season 9.

The newspaper article, headlined "Elvis' Widow Kills Dallas - Pam," claims that Victoria Principal would be leaving the show and that, due to declining ratings, Pam's exit needed to be as dramatic as possible. For this reason, Pam would be killed by Jenna, who is increasingly losing her mind due to her grief over Bobby's death. After Jenna kills Pam, she too would leave the show, so Priscilla Presley would be fired.

I've always wondered why so much screen time in season 9 was wasted on Jenna's grief over Bobby, but now I ask myself if that epic grief was there to show why Jenna kills Pam a year later. On the one hand, I can imagine that without Bobby's return Jenna could have killed Pam for a ratings boost, but would the writers really go there and leave Christopher without a parent? So, would you have liked to see Pam killed by Jenna, or are you grateful that Bobby returned and that possibility wasn't realized?

I would not have cared for that ending. I actually found Pam more interesting and watchable when Bobby was dead. Once he re-incarnated she turned into a nutjob over Jenna's pregnancy. Worrying over possible school bus crashes and the like. Jenna's grief was also excessive.

Obviously, Pam would've kicked her ass.

Besides, didn't Victoria date Elvis at one point? Maybe Jenna was jealous over that!

They should have fought to a mutual death in an emerald mine in South America in the final episode of the Dream Season.

Just as they were buried under a minor avalanche of precious gemstones and rubble, never to be seen again, the scene would cut to a shower occupied by a soapy and giggling Bobby and Katherine, who’d faked their deaths and run off to Europe after Bobby suddenly turned evil midway through Lucy’s second wedding to Mitch.

Matt Cantrell would also be soapy and giggling, but in a different shower.
