:giggle: Yes. Perhaps it was overstating when I said she has "been frequently cited as an icon". Replace that with"sometimes shown up in lists of final girls". The Omen trilogyhad the "creative kills" covered to a degree, but I can easily see how the Nightmare films could put its own cartoony spin on this and take it to another level. Somehow I imagine the effects looking quite silly today (which could be an argument for watching). I am a little intrigued that the first sequel had a rare male scream queen. Yes. It's one of those premises that allows for lots of potential scenarios. In retrospect it's kind of obvious, but I can imagine the difficult part was coming up with the premise in the first place. There's also the selling point of the film potentially doing for sleeping what Psycho did for the shower. As a side note, I actually had a nightmare the night after watching (it wasn't related to the film and I'd also had a similar nightmare the night before watching, so I'm sure it wasn't connected. Still, it felt appropriate). From what I understand, it's about the making of a new Nightmare sequel, so the "real" Nightmare films become the films within a film, much like the Stab films would later be in Scream. I've never seen Shadow Of The Vampire, but it looks interesting. I'm reminded of Ed Wood a film I haven't watched since it was first released, but enjoyed at the time (even though I had never seen or heard of Plan 9 From Outer Space).
