YouTube reviewers who feel the need to vocally emphasize every word. All languages offer a plethora of words and expressions to achieve that without having to shout the words.
Ironically, this monotonic emphasizing eliminates any attempt at nuance instead of increasing it.
And don't get me started on the waving hands to emphasize the emphasis.

Eventhough the subject itself might interest me, I find it too exhausting to watch the whole video.

Being stuck at home more than usual has created one odd problem: there's a developing 'low spot' on the sofa that keeps sinking as I continue to sit in that favorite spot while relaxing and watching TV. I'm ruining the springs in the sofa. I have six different comfortable spots to sit in the living room, but only two or three that give me a good view of the TV...and this spot where I currently sit is the only one close enough to the coffee table.

By the time this thing is over, there will be a spot on the sofa with a permanent, butt-shaped indention in it that will sink into the earth's crust every time I sit on it.:re:

I hate when my neutered cat pee on my furniture...

I’ve worked with cats for many years. Do you have more than one? Have you introduced a new pet to the house? Or is there another cat outside?

This is usually marking behaviour of territory in a neuteured male.

I do believe it's what he's doing. I live in a house with a garden. One of my neighbor has like 10 cats or more. One of them love to come in my garden, uninvited, et to enter in my house. One of my 3 cats hates him very, very, very much. So yes, I think is marking his territory against the intruder.

I’m sick of people ignoring the one way signs in Tescos and walking whatever way they feel like up the aisles!!!!

I confess I got annoyed at the people in Publix not following the directional signs on the aisles--at least, at first. I even had a bit of self-righteous fun with the situation, looking at the person with confusion, then doing a double-take look at the sign(s) on the floor, hoping they would look where I was looking to figure out why I was reacting that way. I let go of it after a while though, because frankly I was starting to feel like a rat in a maze and even the employees weren't respecting the signage. Not sure about Tesco, but the aisles at most Publixes are wide enough that two people can pass with 4 feet or so between...which, if both people are wearing masks is sufficient in my mind. Plus, there are high-traffic areas at counters that do not have directional arrows and people 'collect' in those spots worse than they do in aisles.

As I was leaving Target yesterday afternoon, there were three (yes, THREE) different cars parked up on the curb in front of the store. The parking lot was half-empty; there were plenty of empty parking spaces. But no, as usual Karen "only had to run in for a quick item" and decided to park in the fire lane. One of the three had even left the car running, which speaks to their stupidity on top of their laziness. Target even puts these giant concrete "balls" along the curb to stop this sort of thing, but they find a way. One such jerk/jerkette had driven up into the smoothed-off spot where people in wheelchairs (or people pushing carts) walk in/out, so if I were disabled and needed to get in, I guess I would have to wait for Karen to emerge from the store and move her car. And "running in for a quick item" is virtually impossible, since its Target not a gas station, for God's sake. The only one that had someone sitting in it (in the passenger seat) had their window down, so as I walked past I let my passive-aggressive flag fly, saying within earshot "I guess it is Make Up Your Own Parking Space Day at Target!"

Not that it will stop any of them from continuing to do it, since self-indulgence rules the day with these people. I wish they'd install those "severe tire damage" spikes.

I live in a small country - N Ireland - and it actually melts my head when people who live in say - Belfast - say they are going ‘down’ to Derry which is North. That’s going up.

Or going up to Dublin, from Belfast. That’s south. That’s going down. @Alexis

I know what you mean but it gets a bit confusing when you say going down to Donegal. As Donegal is in the republic of Ireland which is usually called the south. Donegal is in the North of Ireland. Not Northern Ireland, which show's you how utterly stupid the idea is.

Very very few will go down to Donegal unless you live in Muff. :D

The majority will go up or across.

When YouTube does funny things - but I'm not laughing!
I watched a Dynasty clip but now it's there for all eternity! I can search for other videos and the titles show up, but the video doesn't change.

Speaking of that, it irks me when people use the phrase "across the world" or, even more so, "across the globe" instead of "around the globe."

Gotta agree there. Like vocal fry, the over-reliance on 'filler words' like "y'know" and "like" makes the person using them sound really stupid. But it's not a new thing, apparently.....

These days, it's more often a problem when the press interviews people who are not accustomed to public speaking, especially athletes.

You might want to skip these, @Emelee :D
