I've left a message on ITV3's Facebook page, as have several others. From the look of it, it doesn't look like they reply to any visitors' posts.

They've replied... And they said that missing out an episode was due to a technical issue...

Sounds more like an inability to count the episode numbers to me!

I kept getting the last minutes of an episode as I watched Classic Corrie and it's led me to record Emmerdale's 90s. That's four episodes a day I've committed myself to and so far I'm loving Emmerdale, even the Dingles don't seem as bad as I remember them.

It's also wonderful to see many of actors that are no longer with us.

I kept getting the last minutes of an episode as I watched Classic Corrie and it's led me to record Emmerdale's 90s. That's four episodes a day I've committed myself to and so far I'm loving Emmerdale, even the Dingles don't seem as bad as I remember them.

You've missed out on the best! The 1995, 1996 episodes was where all the soap fun was at.

After the exits of Nellie and Tina, the Dingles are now into their broad comedy phase and won't regain any grit until Cain and Charity rock up.

I watched it back then, though I can't remember much about that period. I remember Nellie and Tina Dingle and I'm disappointed I missed watching those two. I did enjoy Butch, Lisa and Marlon and totally loving Lisa, so it's great to be to see their stories. I'm looking forward to the second Scott Winsor, I really enjoyed the Windsor family. I'm also excited to see Rachel's death by the psycho teacher, I recall it having quite an impact on me how she was pushed off a cliff. I also remember something where the teacher then befriended Kathy and tried to make her look like Rachel, or was it he tried to make Rachel look like his ex-wife. Something like that.

I also missed the Dave Glover and Frank Tate story.

Kim & Steve are talking about a summer camp, is this the story where Spice Girl, Mel B's sister comes into it?

I was wondering about the Cairns family, I remember them not lasting long in the village. Do you remember if there was a reason why they were axed so soon after their arrival? Were they a flop with the viewers?

Also looking forward to the Oakwell Lords and Ladies and the Reynolds family where daughter Ollie, later arrived on the cobbles as Molly.

You really did. It's probably one of the great storylines of the show, plotted out over 2 years, a beginning, middle and definite end, lots of twists and turns. And Dave was so ordinary, so country, so Yorkshire, so Emmerdale - it was never going to end well once he gone mixed up with a rich soap family. It was the perfect combination of old Emmerdale and the more soapy show it was becoming.

While the show could write for the well-to-do characters and the working people, it seemed to falter when it came to the middle class characters. Their previous attempt, the doctor's family who had been introduced at the time of the plane crash, were all gone after 18 months. Tony Cairns was obviously meant to take Frank Tate's place as the grouchy, authoritarian figure but he didn't have the money and the established big house so I think they quickly realised they had no place for the family going forward.

Oh, you missed Frank by about a week.

Cairns? I was watching Edward Peel as a Doctor Who villain a while back.

On Facebook sites recently , people were consoling themselves over Ian Kelsey’s Dave Glover dying, saying that they could still watch him regularly as Patrick Spiller on Classic Casualty in Drama. Two weeks later, he died on that. And he was a regular on Doctors, until he dropped dead on that too. The Doctors crew sent him his coffin name plate thingy. And he got murdered on Coronation Street.

Still, you can watch Kim with the future Carl Costello (Paul Opacic) from Hollyoaks. He popped up in Classic Holby City, where he was having an affair with the husband of the future Carla Connor.

They’ve been cutting the Classic Coronation Street too. Until recently on Drama, the Classic Holby City airings were being cut from 59 minutes to 46. Now they air over a 1hr25 minute slot. Drama has also skipped a few episodes of Classic Casualty, including one of Michael French’s two pre-Holby City start appearances.

Some viewers would consider that to be "dragged out" nowadays. How people's views have changed in 25 years.

Every time he is on the screen I've been questioning myself. I looked him up and saw that he was in BAD GIRLS which I remember well, but there was something else niggling at me and I completely forgot about his roll in HO. Damn, I should have looked further into his work, I just assumed it was only BASD GIRLS. Now I feel dumb!

Yes the bit in bold is spot on, Emmerdale never could write for middle class characters, the Sugden’s are probably middle class (especially by the 1980s when they had more money) but their finances always fluctuated and the Windsor/Hope clan are lower middle class, but other families like the McCallister, the Cairns, The Westons and the Marsden’s never lasted long, The McCallister’s and the Cairn’s were better than the Westons and the Marsden’s though

I felt sorry for Butch when Zak was about to hit him with his belt, great acting from Butch.
I'm loving all the scenes with Kim and Jan.
Rachel & Jack are annoying at the moment.

The Jack/Rachel storyline ruined the dynamic of the Sugden family at the time, it also ruined Rachel as a character which was a shame as I always felt she was one of the few characters from the late 80s/early 90s era who could have gone on into the 2000s, more so than Kathy, Rachel seemed more worldly but having her have an affair with her step-uncle (her third affair with a married man) ruined her.

Charlie Cairns was annoying and quite frankly a horrible human being, Emma was 13, Charlie’s boyfriend took advantage Emma was the victim no matter what

One of the many things I love about watching old Corrie is seeing actors who either appear a few times over the years like this guy.

And the other is seeing Brookside actors popping across the dales to spend time in the village

Someone online made a lovely little “Kim Tate having returned from the dead and watched Frank die” action figure. This “Kim comes with two accessories: the kitchen knife and her make-up mirror compact (useful for checking the breath...!)” . I want one.

I caught that one. While I'm not watching HO right now, my daughter is and sometimes I'll catch the odd episode with her. I also watched a lot of the classic episodes they were showing a few months back.


And speaking of HO actors appearing in other shows, we started ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL last night, it is great to see Rachel Shenton again, she hasn't aged at all.
