This highlights the problem when candidates adopt extreme right wing positions to gain votes that they make racism seem legitimate and acceptable. We are seeing it in the UK following the Brexit vote, racist and xenophobic crime has soared. If Trump were to win, some idiot chanting "Jew S. A." will seem mild compare to the racism that potentially could be unleashed in the USA.

I predicted this at the beginning of November before Trump was elected and it's very sad that I was correct:

Reading the report in the link above from a German news broadcaster is chilling but not surprising. There is only small leap from Mr Trump calling Mexicans criminals and rapists to some of his supporters being abusive to people they identify as being foreign. It's a sad time for America.

How about the people who occupied the land before the "Indians" about whom you speak? Once the "Native Americans" get it back, do the groups who lived here before them get to take it back from them? How about the "Indians" who took land from other "Indian" tribes? How about every other piece of land on Earth, because we know the present day occupiers of those weren't the original inhabitants?

Land is always up for grabs to those who wish to try and take it. That has been the case for all of human history. No point in feeling guilty about it. As every group of people who have lost occupied land knows, 2nd place sucks.

I am one of those people who think all murders are horrible. Not only terrorist acts. School shootings for instance. Everyone has a reason for killing. But it all comes down to hate in some form or another. How you kill or the exact reason is not the most important. What's important is what leads up to the killing of random people. And in most cases it's hatred of society. And for that, religion, race and such doesn't really matter. The issue is much deeper. And it's very apparent that racists don't grasp that. They just want an easy solution to a complex problem that has been around since the humans were first born. They just don't get that the problem will only become worse if you accuse every muslim or every black person of being bad people.

Racists are completely uncapable of understanding what it's like to be in their (insert other group than your own) shoes.

I honestly don't think Hillary's politics would have helped make things better. But I think Donald's politics can make things worse. And considering how many of his voters feel, and how vocal they have become, I think I am correct in thinking that. I really hope I am wrong though. I certainly don't want the world to become worse off. I and everyone I love live here, afterall.
