You know this scene? Well of course you do. And if you don't, as a Swooner I will slap the fek out of ye.

Well, you know where Sue Ellen says, 'Our bargain JR was to have sex, not to have a casual romp in the exercise room...'

Please explain. I was only very little when I first saw this and my tongue was hanging out - but I need more information.

Sorry! I completely messed up here, having had a wine Zoom with my friends! So, JR has blackmailed her into having sex, I think in the wake of the Peter affair? Anyway, it’s a HOT scene and Larry totally feels her breast at the start and then, like the gentleman he is, he moves h it stand to her arm :)

I love when she says “Ur not gonna lose weight by watching me.” Great line!!

Yes, this was after the Peter Richards affair when J.R. now had a legal right to summon Sue Ellen to have sex anywhere and anytime he chose LOL!! Season 7(8 DVD). Not sure of the episode title but it’s very early in the season.

Hmm, I wonder if there was a hint of "this is passion" vs "it's purely physical" there.

Hi Guys! Thanks for joining in - I understand what was happening, BUT what I was asking (badly) was...well...what's the difference between sex and a casual romp? (and legal right, or so he thinks!!! Grr!)

:embarrassed:

Oh right- sorry! I think she means planned sex, albeit at his command, in the bedroom out of the way of the family. However, he did say that everyone was out, even the servants. I agree with @MissTexas1967 that this was passion between them. Look at the way she starts to react to his touch? Also, he’s miserable and she was always quick to offer him comfort (lol) when he was in trouble. It’s a great scene :)

Ah yes that makes more sense now!!!

You guys are so right about the passion!!! She wanted him as much as he did her!!! I think if Sue Ellen was being honest with herself, she always did. And this scene just proves it!!!

Awwwwwww!

13. (A BRIEF) GOODBYE TO LINDA GRAY

Linda Gray was shown the door and had her contract terminated for a pretty intense reason. The actress asked for a raise in her salary and the chance to direct some content like her male counterparts. The producers canceled her because of this, but only until Larry Hagman threatened to quit because he believed J.R. needed Sue Ellen!

I’ve read that story before and I’ve seen Larry and Linda talk about that time when they have been interviewed. Not only the mark of a proper friendship but Larry was right. A lot of JR’s best storylines revolved around his marriage to Sue Ellen. That’s why I reckon the writers hurried to reconcile them after the first divorce. With Jock gone, the family was fractured in a pretty serious way and they needed to get Sue Ellen back at Southfield where she belonged :)

He absolutely did say it and it's been said since by Larry and by the producers.

"Without Sue Ellen, JR was much less" (so was the show!!!)

Also, Larry said in JR Returns, that he wanted 'things put right, between JR and Sue Ellen".

I LOVE you Larry, but could you not have said this in 1988???

So, thinking about that reconciliation, what do you all think about their second honeymoon at the lake house? I loved those scenes but they didn’t last long enough in my view. Us fans needed to see them on vacation much more than the few scenes we got :)

I agree. A LOT more ;) I loved it, was just annoyed JR started to do business when she went off horse riding. But loved the lines about 'exploring of territory' ;)

And that breakfast scene where she’s pouring coffee, I think, and he puts his arm around her waist and says something like how pretty she is!
Omg! :)

Well she is she's gorgeous!! And as Larry said, she played Sue Ellen with a 'smouldering sexiness...' and I'm sorry (well I'm actually not sorry at all) but no one else had that level of oozing sex appeal. They just didn't. (Larry did but well you get what I'm saying. Is it hot in here?) :dancer:

Yes I remember talking about Dallas with my school friends and we all said that our dads fancied Sue Ellen the most! Happy days! :)

Richard and Judy were talking about the show one day with Larry many moons ago and Richard said, 'Sue Ellen was the sexiest'.

Well yes, I KNOW that. :l:
