this one also includes the much-maligned "Flamingo Road"!!
Never maligned by me. I always thought it was a great show. I liked how to juxtaposed Richard Channing's and Michael Tyrone's disappearance and reappearance in a monastery to highlight the similarities between them.

"Falcon Crest" did exceptionally well its cliffhangers, even the one that was placed last (too bad this cliffhanger had the worst resolution ever in the first episode of Season 9). I myself was surprised to see that only the first 3 seasons ranked considerably high. I guess that the rivalry with both "D"´s led to soap exhaustion and a lot of viewers probably only followed one or two of them at that point.

Remember that season four of the show aired following the Donna Reed season of Dallas, which had seen its weekly ratings drop following the cancelation of the Dukes of Hazzard, and the following season found MIAMI VICE in the top ten airing opposite FC on NBC at 10 PM. VICE would fall out of the top ten after being moved ahead one hour following Bobby's return in the shower. But by that point, NBC's comedy lineup was taking top ten spots away from the soaps, and the ratings bleed would never turn around. DALLAS had remained in the top ten despite Angelica's shenanigans but fatigue had set in.

My first video of the new year is one for "Falcon Crest", specifically for Abby Dalton. It´s devoted to her 10 best scenes as Julia. Thanks a lot to all the posters in this forum who have talked about it in one of the threads, you called my attention on the Julia-Emma scenes though we coincide in the rest of them. I hope you like the video!

Voilà my latest video, a top 22 of best "Return" scenes of the 4 major Supersoaps, you know, all those with one character reappearing (not from the dead and not for the first time).

Nice video Tony. My 2 favourite scenes in which characters sang a song were in Flamingo Road when Lane Ballou bonded with her long lost father when they sang a duet in Lute Mae's bar and when Cathy was murdered and Ginger has to fill in and sing the song in her place.

It is not surprising at all about the top position going to Lisa Hartman Black and how Audrey Landers achieved a good scoring level, in the Top 10. They were both terrific singers. Of course they have not lost their capability, to this day. I also enjoyed the performance snippets from the characters Garnett, Lane, Lilimae and the much maligned Apollonia. Good stuff Toni!

Lance is partying with Apollonia and a dozen others, at the Falcon Crest pool. They are celebrating his recent music business deal, with the songbird and are listening to Apollonia singing on a ghetto blaster. Angela interrupts their fun. She switches off the ghetto blaster, without hesitating, (a scene from season 5, 1985 - '86):

Angela: "Lance. Come here!"

Lance: "Yes grandmother."

Angela: "I want these aliens out of here immediately."

Lance: "These aliens are my friends."

Angela: "And it's my house."

Lance: "I live here too."

Angela: "With my permission. Another thing; stay away from that 'Babalonian' character."

Lance: "Her name is Apollonia, a dear friend of mine and a business partner."

Angela: "Monkey business if I know you!"

@Thanks a lot @Jock Og! I did much give thought to this because I didn´t want it to be a favorite list this time. I did like Ciji and Cathy´s songs, but not Cathy´s storylines. But Knots fans would probably consider Lisa the best singer in Soapland, and she played two roles no less.

My own favorites are Michele Lee and Diahann Carroll, though I think that Cristina Raines was quite a good singer, and I had to leave out some others who did sing, but only once or twice, like the awful Johnny Rourke, and Michael Fairgate or Frank Williams, or the well-meant (but dull) Ginger. It was too much not to include those (dis)honorable mentions... They were asking for it!!

Toni, these videos are so impeccably produced. Kudos! It is nice to see KL @ N.o. 1 (poor Sid Fairgate), as the show deserves more recognition. FC likewise!

However FALCON CREST will forever be the supremo for the amount of deaths, in comparison to the other three eighties supersoaps. The wine country had its very own busy grim reaper, in a very vast world. Btw a nice tribute to Michael Nader of DYNASTY fame, in the closing section of your video focusing on real deaths.

Maggie's wake is taking place, in the Falcon Crest mansion. Angela is standing with Chao-Li, in the foyer, (a scene from season 9, 1989 - '90):

Angela: "Richard wait! It is amazing how death can shake even the firmest resolve. Richard come here."

Mother and son hug.

Richard: "What am I going to do?"

Angela: "You're gonna survive!"

Thanks a lot, it´s very flattering to be complimented by Da Man in person... About the technical aspect, I keep trying to improve it though I don´t have a professional program at all. I do have, though, a very extensive archive of soaps to select scenes from...

I doubted between Sid and Maggie at first. What convinced me is the thought that no one in a soap has died (almost) crucified as St. Sid. Oh David Jacobs, you could be so mean sometimes...

Hello glamorous people:
Here is my new video, a compilation of the best "worst" sisters in the Supersoap world. From the K´s of "Dallas" to those Fairgates from "Knots" or the very snob girls from the two "Dynasty´s".
This video has been blocked for a few days due to one clip from "The Colbys" and I was ready to make a "censored" version of it, but it has been unblocked until my "appeal" is considered by the parts, here Ms. Francisca Colby, I presume.
So again, this lady is f*cking all that is not hers!
Enjoy the video because there are more coming. Next: Knots Landing again.

Great video @Toni, I particularly like seeing Francesca Gioberti and Kristen is the correct choice for your number 1.

I'm surprised that they are threatening to block The Colbys clip because there are complete episodes of the show on YouTube.
And a total irony given what I think of that show personally but... you have to keep the Colbys fans satisfied!

Voilà my latest Supersoaps video for Falcon Crest´s best Angela-Lance scenes. If you want to see some other topic covered by my videos just mention it here. Enjoy the clips and that couple´s snarkiness (no pun intended).
