How long will it take us to get to 10,000 posts?

'The Lovely Michelle'
I would've loved one of these over the last few weeks , the problem is we don't often get extreme heat to justify having one fitted. Although, according to the expert weather-people, global warming is to blame for our heatwaves this summer, so if this heat becomes the norm them air conditioning will become a must.

Does TESCO in your area have them? I didn't have air-conditioning for the first twenty years of my life so I know how rough it can be. Maybe we should find a warehouse in the Land of Long Lashes and fill it with Air-Cons and corner the market when global warming gives us more heatwaves? :p

Can we go to Iceland to see The Northern Lights? :hats:
Sure but bring something warm as it can be cold at night in Iceland.

I was in Norway several years ago and though I didn't see the Northern Lights it was late-May and it was 11PM/23:00 and the sun was just setting. It was so hard to get use to.
They have been wonderful thank you, I grew more than ever this year. Right now they are passed their best, but I hold onto them until they're practically collapsing

That's is indeed good news. Sunflowers are such a sign of summer. Do your birds like the seeds?

My Poinsettias? Ooo :shifty: not good news I'm afraid, Biggie is extremely poorly.

When I was unexpectedly away a couple of weeks ago Mr L looked after my plants and oh dear, he was very heavy handed with the water, I can't blame him because he was doing his best, but Biggie didn't like it.

So today, I've performed major surgery, I took Biggie out of his water logged soil, discarded the rotten roots, gently took off the dead leaves and then re-potted him in fresh compost. Do you think I've done the right thing Michelle? I couldn't get the soil to drain and dry out.

Now we need a miracle
Oh no! I think you did the right thing. My Pinkie Poinsettia was in a soaked pot when I got her and I put her into fresh soil and she survived, only to day a year later for no another ailment. Give her some sun and hope for the best. You have come so close but things happen.

Please keep us updated on Biggie's condition.

We could do with a TT Private Jet next, don't you think? that way you could pack it full with all your wonderful plants, the Jet could then return to pick up your clothes and bits and bobs.

How do we fund such a dream? :D
A private jet? I like the sounds of a TT Private Jet but we would need a pilot. With the TT Yacht we can (barely) manage to drive that vessel. I doubt TESCO would finance this vehicle even with all my hotness powers. Those executives were reported to have been fired for their weakness to my incredible hotness and use for corporate funds. Don't worry though Michelle will think of something.

I love puns and stupid phrases. And if I know it drives you crazy I’ll keep doing it, until you get mad and threaten me of course, which is usually when it stops.
Ooo get using them DFF. I love a good pun :D

I'm ashamed to say that my humour is also sarcastic, I know that's a low form of wit, but I can't help it.

I was writing this morning and then I just got tired of it for some reason so I went and run errands. I’m sure I’ll go back to it sometime tomorrow. At this pace I’ll finish this book sometime in my 90s LOL!!!
Slow and steady is the way to go. I dislike it when people rush, rush and are impatient , it puts me on edge.

Some days I’m fine and some days I’m not good at all but if I didn’t stay positive about it I don’t know where I’d be. Laughing helps a lot. I’ve always felt it cures much of what bothers us.
:hugs:

Laughter is a great release for our emotions. In some instances its used in medicine too, especially with children.

I came across this quote which I like and will share with you ... even if you don't want me to .

I was never a rebel either, and I come from a long line of rebels so I’m not sure where I get it.
The most rebel-ish thing (well one of them) I did as a teenager was dying my blonde hair black. Oh my I got into all sorts of bother for that,. My parents went absolutely ballistic and my school refused to allow me into lessons until I dyed it back to my natural colour. Needless to say my hair ended up like a dried out haystack from all the various dye chemicals .

Even at work if I make a mistake on the road or something I go right to my boss and confess.
I'm like this too. I need to confess my sins immediately and get them out of my head.

Except for maybe a few of my roadkills. I play dumb with those until they show up on the cameras.
Shhh!
sstop.gif
... the budgies on here have ears.

I can relate cause I’ve become much more cautious as I get older too. I used to do a lot of stupid things but I’ll tell you what changed me, my niece and nephew. The two that live near me are like my own and I changed a lot of things because of them. Things I used to say and do that I would never even think about now is all because of them. I remember people telling me wait til you have kids. You’ll be forced to finally grow up. Well, I don’t have kids but those two are the closest I got and now I know what everyone meant. My whole outlook changed when they got here, especially with my niece of course cause she’s my favorite but that’s our secret Lashes.
This is really lovely DFF :)

Let’s see, where are we? 5023? I think that’s reasonable. 5100 by September 30 it is! That’s 77 posts away.
Lets do it! :hats:

You know I just realized with the length of my posts if I would just cut them in half we’d be at 10,000 already. I wonder how many people actually read my nonsense on the rest of the board?
I always read and enjoy every word my friend.

I have been known to rabbit on and on myself .. . not that you rabbit on, no you don't! I didn't mean it like that .

I think I'd better shut up..Lol

We do have air-con for sale over here, yes. I think we're going to see how hot it gets next year and if the clever weather-people are correct and the heatwaves are going to keep happening then we will invest in air-con.

Sure but bring something warm as it can be cold at night in Iceland.
I can cope with that, I love chunky jumpers :D

I was in Norway several years ago and though I didn't see the Northern Lights it was late-May and it was 11PM/23:00 and the sun was just setting. It was so hard to get use to.
How fascinating that must've been. Did your body adjust to the lighter evenings/nights?

Sunflowers are such a sign of summer. Do your birds like the seeds?
Strangely no. Everyone tells me how the birds love the seeds, but they haven't come near my Sunflowers. The daft thing is I actually buy black sunflower seeds for our bird feeder and they love those. We seem to have fussy birds in our garden..Lol!

Oh no! I think you did the right thing. My Pinkie Poinsettia was in a soaked pot when I got her and I put her into fresh soil and she survived, only to day a year later for no another ailment.
I'm glad you think I did the right thing, this is a relief to hear, thanks Michelle.

May I ask you, with Pinkie Poinsettia did the soaked soil smell at all? can you remember? . Its use that when I took Biggie out of his flooded pot it didn't smell good which concerned me as that usually indicates rot.

Give her some sun and hope for the best. You have come so close but things happen.
Biggie has pride of place on the window sill in our lounge which gets the sun all afternoon and evening, I'm hoping this might help.

Do you think you could do it again and upgrade us to a TT SUPER yacht?

Don't worry though Michelle will think of something.
Private jets don't come cheap my friend. I think we might need financing from someone bigger than Tesco this time. Are you friends with Bill Gates?

I just couldn't resist the chance in inflict another of my favorite pieces of music on you fine people..
Cast your mind back to "Who Will Post Next" and the whole talking elephant seeing the future thing... This track by Twisted Individual I happened across in the small hours just before sun up during a period in my history that found me misbehaving to ignore the wounds that wouldn't heal.

I absolutely love this track, and over time I "got" the lady weeps for a love no more, the sitar lends a sympatric ear, the basslines (note there are 2 basslines) tells the heart broken lady that no man is worth her tears...the elephant always says something different. Of course you might just think I'm talking nonsense.

I’m told I can be very sarcastic as well. It’s usually when I’m fearing something or some situation and that’s how my wit will come out at those times. I do try to control it but sometimes I can’t help it either.

Slow and steady is the way to go. I dislike it when people rush, rush and are impatient , it puts me on edge.
I can’t stand being rushed. With my job I’m in a rush all day so in my personal life I like to do things slowly. When people start rushing me I get very angry and a phenomenon occurs where I will eventually turn green. I know that you can relate to this.

Laughter is a great release for our emotions. In some instances its used in medicine too, especially with children.
Laughter can be very contagious. Sometimes though I notice I really don’t feel like laughing and that’s not something I enjoy saying. I love making others laugh. It’s a precious gift but for some reason, and this might be hard to believe, it takes a lot to make me laugh. People will say things to me and wait for the laugh but I’m just standing there staring at them. Eventually it will sink in and I laugh but it ruins the joke or story for them sometimes. Maybe my mind wanders when I’m supposed to be listening, who knows?

I came across this quote which I like and will share with you ... even if you don't want me to .

That’s a very true quote. I can make light of almost anything in life. If I feel it will help ease your pain, I’ll say it just to get a laugh, within reason of course.

I love that story! Too funny! But why would the school care if you dyed your hair black? I remember the girls dying their hair all the time when I was in school.

I guess my rebel-ish thing was turning the front lawn into a baseball field. My grandfather wasn’t too thrilled when he got home. My grandparents were away that weekend but my mother saw what my cousin and I were doing and for some reason decided to look the other way.

Shhh!

LOL!! I knew what you meant Lashes. Don’t ever worry about walking on eggshells with DFF. I do go on and on though, don’t I? Which is funny cause in person I’m the total opposite. At work most people have to force me to speak.

Okay, so we’re 65 posts away from our agreed upon goal of 5100 by September 30. We have 33 days to come up with this new goal.

It's a shame you have to consider getting Air-Con but it's worse to be uncomfortable in the heat.

I can cope with that, I love chunky jumpers :D

May I ask you, with Pinkie Poinsettia did the soaked soil smell at all? can you remember? . Its use that when I took Biggie out of his flooded pot it didn't smell good which concerned me as that usually indicates rot.

I didn't remember it smelling but PP was a small plant at the time. The people at my work just dumped water in the pot not knowing that the water needed to drain. Thankfully I got PP before root rot took hold. PP was placed in dry, fresh soil and she took well to it. He death early this year had nothing to do with the episode.

How is Biggie doing since you repotted her? Maybe a few days outdoors could help too.

While we are talking plants, how is Orkie, Pearl and Tiny Tim?

Biggie has pride of place on the window sill in our lounge which gets the sun all afternoon and evening, I'm hoping this might help.

I hope Biggie pulls through. We are about to enter September so the countdown to Christmas is nearing. I'm hoping your forth time is the charm.

LOL, I was wondering who is was when he showed up at the TT Cafe for an interview. He did comment favorably to my long jumper and my great legs. ;) I took his resume and told him we'll be in touch when we get the jet. I did like his reflective sunglasses so I could see myself when talking to him. That will have to remain if we hire him.
:eck: ... you mean to say you appropriated dodgy funds for our TT yacht? I'm shocked!

It was their weakness to my hotness that delivered to us the TT Yacht. I get the suspicion that this had been going on long before I entered corporate headquarters.
Do you think you could do it again and upgrade us to a TT SUPER yacht?
Ours is super enough. It's bad enough that we monopolize the TT Yacht for the other members ..... who don't even seem to know about it. If they don't read the Games boards it's their loss. :p

I like it too  I didn't realise the lady was weeping for a lost love, but I liked her vocals they are very haunting. The 2 baselines are clever, but I especially liked the drumming, I like drummy music. Thanks for posting it Biggie.

We are both hopeless DFF

... although and this is a terrible thing to admit, I don't realise how sarcastic I can be at times. I'm trying to get a hold on this. I could do with a support group .. Sarcastic People Anonymous .. or something.

When people start rushing me I get very angry and a phenomenon occurs where I will eventually turn green. I know that you can relate to this.
Ooo I get it. We both have a terrible burden to bear and no one else understands :loon:

Sometimes though I notice I really don’t feel like laughing and that’s not something I enjoy saying.
I think we can all have times like that too, so try beat yourself up about it my friend :)

I love making others laugh. It’s a precious gift
Yes it is! Its a great gift to be able to bring laughter and joy into someones day, good for you and your humour DFF :D

Have you ever heard of a comedian called 'Billy Connolly' or 'Peter Kay' ? ... I could listen to these two all day, they have me in stitches and like you I think they have a wonderful gift.

love that story! Too funny! But why would the school care if you dyed your hair black? I remember the girls dying their hair all the time when I was in school.
My school was very strict about sticking to the school uniform and rules. They were not at all happy with me flaunting the rules.

I guess my rebel-ish thing was turning the front lawn into a baseball field. My grandfather wasn’t too thrilled when he got home. My grandparents were away that weekend but my mother saw what my cousin and I were doing and for some reason decided to look the other way.

Do you have the feeder out during the summer? I'd be curious how much they would eat from it during summer.
Apart from keeping the bird bath topped up with fresh water I tend not to feed them much at all during the summer, in fact, when we had the heatwave most of our garden birds disappeared, I wonder where they went?

The fussy birds of Long Lashes garden.
They really are  I once bought Sunflower Heart Seeds for a change and the birds wouldn't touch them..Lol!

I am very pleased this week though, because my friendly little Robin Redbreast has returned.

The people at my work just dumped water in the pot not knowing that the water needed to drain.
Oh yes I remember now how Pinkie Poinsettia came from your work.

Thankfully I got PP before root rot took hold. PP was placed in dry, fresh soil and she took well to it.
She had a lucky escape thanks to you :)

How is Biggie doing since you repotted her? Maybe a few days outdoors could help too.
Thanks for asking, but he's not good at all, I can't see anything springing into life So I'm going to take your advice and try him in the garden.

While we are talking plants, how is Orkie, Pearl and Tiny Tim?
I must take a photo of Pearl she is full of blooms, the other day one of my friends asked if she was a real plant because her flowers look so perfect ... at least I'm having some success with one of my plants.

Tiny Tim is plodding on in his own way, he's looked quite miserable in the heat, but then he prefers winter and Orkie is still resting at the moment ... I don't think she fancies being in competition with the younger and bigger Pearl.

LOL, I was wondering who is was when he showed up at the TT Cafe for an interview.
Yes that was MY Dan the pilot

He did comment favorably to my long jumper and my great legs. ;)
Did he? :yikey: ... hmm maybe I'll re-advertise for another Pilot.

I took his resume and told him we'll be in touch when we get the jet. I did like his reflective sunglasses so I could see myself when talking to him.
Think I'll ask him to ditch the reflective sunglasses :NI:

They don't know what they're missing not wandering down to this forum. Lets keep quiet about the TT yacht I don't fancy sharing it with the other members .Lol!

So that's Bill Gates off our list then .
