Hello everybody! I hope you had happy holidays and are enjoying a healthy 2023!
I have just uploaded another "Dallas" video, this time is a compilation of previous videos published in English, now with the Spanish dubbing, so it is dedicated to all the Spanish fans out there (not sure if there is some other fan here!). I´m going to expand the content of my two Youtube channels, and will continue to get deeper into the supersoap genre. Thanks to all people here who are following them and have encouraged me to keep it going. Kissy-kissy from Miss Piggy, who still is recovering from her very wild New Year´s Eve!

Hi Toni, I have a curiosity. Was Larry Hagman dubbed by several voices in Spain, or just one? To my ear it seems that the voice actors are often different.

Good question. All the actors minus Larry, Barbara and Jim, had at least two (sometimes even 4 or 5!) different voices. You noticed Larry speaking with a second voice, I guess. The last season was never aired in Castillian Spanish (nationwide) here, only locally and dubbed into the other co-languages. So when I chose those little clips (JR with Marilee and Michelle), I preferred to use the Latin American dubbing rather than the original version in English. It sounds different and there are expressions and words we don´t use in Spain though it´s well understood here.
Let me add that the 13 seasons that were dubbed into Spanish had changes in the voices because they belonged to different time frames: the first 3 seasons were dubbed in 1979-1982; seasons 4 to 13 in 1989-1991. Actors may get sick, move to another city or just say no to dub a 300-episode series. The ones who suffer for it are, as usual, us the public. Imagine if, besides that, you have to adjust to another language (Catalan in my case) and another cast of actors, as happened for seasons 4 to 14 in part of Spain. So "Dallas" was all around but it all sounded quite chaotic. I´m working on a new video that will explain this and everything else about the history of the show in Spain. Keep tuned in!

Hello everybody! Voilà my newest video, now for every Dallas season´s most watched episode, one for each of 14 years. Which one is your favorite of every season? Do you wanna know if the rest of Americans agreed with you? There is a preview too of the previous episode in every case (with the legendary "last on Dallas"...) so you can decide which one was more decisive for the viewers to watch it, if the previous cliffhanger episode or the episode in question. The top belongs to "youknowwhatepisode"... or doesn´t it?

Here is Part 3 of my Best Episode Trilogy of videos. Now it´s time to be scared... I mean, to watch the Season Finales! I didn´t follow the ratings (there is another video for that, scroll up to find it) but my own personal tastes.
I´ve allowed myself to do a little "improving" of the latter season´s clips (which isn´t too noticeable to be honest), and I also "lit up" the iconic shot of JR being shot (pun intended...). I don´t know about your dvds, but "A house divided" looks ominously dark in my dvd. Just like @Snarky Oracle I do love darker "Dallas" and clearing up some frames here doesn´t do too much service IMHO.
You will also see here longer recaps of the cliffhanger episodes as well as the cliffhangers themselves. Score-wise, I have added here and there some character themes that the show should have stuck with (music fans will recognize them).

Oh, yes. They did some restorative work on the original DVDs for "A House Divided" but there's no question that JR's falling and freeze frame after he's shot is way, way darker than it originally aired in 1980 or looked for 25 years.
It used to look as bright as the scene in the next episode when the screaming cleaning lady finds him.
They did something similar, to much controversy, to the final scene in the bell tower in the restoration of VERTIGO a few years ago. Much darker than it used to be, such that the image is hard to decipher.
Yes, I like darker too, to a point. But not this kind of "sweetening."

There's a great staircase moment in the cliffhanger of season 1 of Flamingo Road when Constance and Fielding argue and she falls over the bannister.
My favourite staircase moment is in Falcon Crest when Melissa gives up Joseph and after Cole takes him, she notices the stuff toy that she gave Joseph to remember her by dropped on the stairs. She picks it up, hugs it and cries. Even Angela is moved by this sight and fights back the tears.

Thanks a lot for reminding me the Melissa scene, I had forgotten that happened by the staircase. About the banisters and balconies, I´ll have to leave them out because there are enough staircase scenes from the 5 soaps to make 3 videos!! Anyway, I think I used that FR cliffhanger several times already and I try to be original (except when it´s about Season Finales, then it´s impossible!).
