Telly Talk Supreme
Heights never used to bother me when I was younger, I guess I never thought of the danger and used to absolutely love going on the high and fast fairground rides, but now that I'm ... shall we say more mature :p .. I can't stand the thought of being exposed to heights and if we go to a fairground I'm the one who holds everyone else's coats whilst they enjoy the high rides.
For some reason heights have always bothered me from when I was little yet fairground rides don’t bother me very much. I can go on roller coasters with no problem but going up a ladder can be a challenge. I know this makes no sense. Planes don’t bother me much as far as the height goes. That’s more about the fear of crashing, which would really bother me.

Ooo yikes :yikey: I do forget you have these animals in the wild where you live. Do they tend to make an appearance once the weather heats up?
I would say the hot weather does bring them out more, especially the rain.

I've only ever seen a snake in the wild twice in the UK and lets just say I freaked out a bit  .
I can’t say I blame you! Especially when you’re not used to seeing them regularly. Here these reptiles are so common that we’re all kind of used to it.

Another time Mr L and I where on holiday in Greece and we'd hired a couple of push bikes to go for a ride and as we were riding along this dusty road we noticed what we thought was a childs bright yellow toy on the road ahead .. and yes, you've guess it, it was an actual snake, I was just about to freak out and then Mr L informed me that it was dead. I did feel sorry for it though.
Lol!! The realization from “the bright yellow toy” to it being a snake must’ve been jarring! I’m so used to seeing them but I still jump every time one crosses my path.

You must have a friendly and approachable demerara if complete stranger feel able to talk to you DFF :D .
Thank you my friend! It is a little odd though sometimes. I will be minding my own business and someone in a store or the mall will just start blabbering away to me about their day like we know each other. I’ll play along of course.

its a horrible feeling when we get hungry or thirsty .. I'm terrible if I'm thirsty, all I can think of is getting a drink asap  but most of the time I do have a bottle of water with me everywhere I go.
You’d certainly love it here then! Here you would have a gallon of water with you everywhere you go instead of a bottle my friend.

It must be difficult to always be there at the time the customers have been told you will. All sorts of things can happen to cause a delay, the pressure must be on you to try and not be late .. which is so hard.
If I could somehow divide myself into 100 different pieces but still live there are days I would definitely consider it ‘Lashes. The pressure to be everywhere at once is unbelievable but you do get used to it. Eventually you realize there’s not much you can do other than your best and when you’re late, well, you’re late.

I always have the excuses ready of course. I’ll blame traffic, the wildlife, the truck, dogs chasing me, getting stuck on Telly Talk, alien abduction, etc.

... are you sure that it wasn't a family member who gave her the five? or maybe she uses bribery on her customers? ..Lol!
You do have me curious now. Never thought of that but I guess anything is a possibility. The funny thing is I’m told I repeatedly have one of the highest survey scores every month yet I’ve never gotten a 5. I just want to get one 5. It’s all I ask. It’s become an obsession to me but kind of a running joke to everyone else now. My new nickname at work is “4.” I should change my username to “Four Forever” but I’m afraid no one will get it but you ‘Lashes.

Yes our springtime is very changeable weather-wise. Today we are back to heavy rain, which is typical when I'm in the mood for pulling up weeds, I don't mind gardening in the cold, but I'm not going out there in the rain :).
I can’t blame you. I wouldn’t want to go out there in the rain either. I know how seriously you take your gardening and how much you enjoy it. It must get frustrating when the weather doesn’t cooperate?

I so wish I could let you have some of our rain, how is the weather now? have you had any rain recently?
I wish you could send me some of your rain too! It’s funny because every day the weather report is saying rain is in the forecast but for some reason it’s never getting here. Everyone’s lawn is now brown. Very odd for this time of year but I’m sure it will change soon as we get into June.

Well, either that or we all boil. I’m really not sure which this year.

Oh bliss, it must feel wonderful to get home from work on a hot day and plunge into the pool, I do envy you DFF
It does help. It’s either that or jump into one of my customer’s pools before I get home, which more often than not I do contemplate.

I know what you mean about dehydrating quickly, thats happened to me once as well and its scary. Heatsrokes must be awful too, the sun can be so powerful, I've actually bought myself a sunhat to wear in the garden this year .. which means I've probably scuppered our luck in having a hot summer
They say if you’re thirsty you’re already dehydrated, which is a scary thought to me.

Hopefully you didn’t buy the sunhat for nothing. If it’s not a hot summer then at least you could wear it for protection from the rain maybe?

I hope you’re having a nice week so far ‘Lashes and the same goes for everyone else reading this!

'The Lovely Michelle'
She did :D Michelle the Poinsettia was a success for so long and then suddenly out of the blue she just gave up.

I remember that. Poinsettias are like that I have found. She will always be remembered.

Ooo my poor Matilda :( ... she's still with us, but as you know we were away recently and when I got back home she was so very dry and her green leaves had curled up, I felt so bad, but I did water her well before leaving.

Right now she currently has no green leaves (all dropped off) but amazingly her red leaves still look fab, so I think she's trying to decide what to do?

How is Matilda? Has she decided to stay alive? Poinsettias seem so delicate, one wrong move and they are gone.

I wonder if they have a secret Orchid language? I hope my Pearl and Orkie aren't talking about me behind my back :lmao:
I also wonder if the can communicate with each other or at least know when another of their kind are near them. BTW, how are they doing?

Lets hope Streetie gets a summer in the garden :) she's done so well since her rough start to life. I'm so glad you rescued her Michelle.

Well this past month with Streetie as been one of the roughest. On 3 May she was taken to my Mother's garden after spending the past seven or so months with me, only briefly emerging once on 8 April for the Eclipse. She looked okay on her way down but soon after her arrival, the first week or so, three of her four remaining main limbs started to die off. No good at all. Luckily so far the final limb has remained and new leaves are growing so she may get to see the Summer again. I check her each time I stop by and I was shedding tears in mid-May for her. She's an old Poinsettia and surely has some illness but she has found the strength to make it to June so far. Here is a photo of her last Sunday, 9 June.

Hopefully her cuttings will thrive for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Grifty too.

The cuttings have not really been successful. Only one seems sorta alive. Giftie is doing okay. She also entered my Mother's garden on 1 June. She had lost 80% of her mass from soft rot in March but one limb remained. I have my current concerns about her too with pail leaves but she deserves a Summer in the garden regardless. Giftie was a gift from one of my neighbors last December, hence her name.

Oh heck, I'm sorry my friend, let us know how they are all are when you can. :hugs:

It's been a roller coaster but as of this writing they are maintaining which is all I can ask for. My orchids are starting to drop blooms and stating to grow leaves. They always bring me joy.

I forget to add to my plant stories that my old bell pepper Pippa The Pepper is starting to grow peppers for the approaching summer. Her third summer.
