It was all a dream…

We have discussed at length about the 1985-86 Dallas Dream Season.

such a resolution on Dallas cheapened it, and contributed to its dire final years, until that Spring of 1986 Dallas was far superior to Dynasty, Dynasty was only equal to it in its first couple years, but upon rewatches, for me Dallas will always be the better of the two shows.

But while writing off and entire year off as a dream was lazy for Dallas, could it have worked on Dynasty?

Dynasty was always far more in the realm of fantasy compared to other 80s soaps but could writing off not one but two seasons of Dynasty as a dream been really that drastic by 1986? Have seasons 5 & 6 as dreams that Krystle or Alexis had? That way you get rid of Moldavia and the Two Krystle’s, there would have to be other tweaks, such as The Colby’s can’t be easily explained away as a dream.

Or perhaps it’s PSM!Fallon’s dream….she wakes up from a coma two years after her car crash on the night she was supposed to get married, Jeff is by her side as she explains her dream.

Id still keep Amanda, she could still have arrived in the time Fallon was in a coma and the mention of her slipped through into her dream

I know it’s ludicrous, I know it’s utterly bats, but I feel the Dream would be something Dynasty would have done.

Well, David Paulsen wanted Pamela Sue Martin to suddenly reappear as Fallon in Jeff's bed at the end of Dynasty Season 8, much as Patrick Duffy had done as Bobby in Pam's shower at the end of Dallas Season 8. That would have been fun, although personally I wouldn't wish any of Dynasty away as a dream.

Yes he did want PSM back.

A dream scenario does seem more Dynasty than Dallas, but I see what you mean
