Well, she's got her I'm-just-a-normal-girl charisma down pat. But, for some reason, I absolutely don't like her. I'll figure out why later. But girlfriend knows what she's doing.

yes yes and yes, Work shy, never done an honest days work in her life and Dull Dull Dull, bland, simpering insipid - yes you can say Im not a fan
I like the Queen, I think she is a real trooper and she was born for the role and I think she does a great job at 91- id be long retired and sitting by the fire in my tartan slippers reading the Peoples friend magazine! But it is her calling, her duty and she has served our country well
I like Charlie boy, Anne - just gets on with it - no fuss - dont need to cuddle a baby and dont need to be in the press and I love Harry, down to earth, very personable and personality in abundence
Wills and Kate are plain dull and god help us when they take over after Charles passes away, Bland and Blander
having said that - QE2 costs me less than a £1 a year and I will take her over any President - of any country in the World - half of them are despots, dictators and corrupt! Africa, S America, oh and then there is Trump!

From the little I've seen, the non-verbal communication (and some of the verbal) has been interesting in their first post-announcement appearances.
The ten seconds from 1:40 onwards seems very telling. Of what I'm not sure yet.

If you dislike Kate and William, but find every one else just fine -- that Harry and Markle are just fine, the rest of the Royals are just fine, then you .... you ... there's something wrong.Will disagree with you there

Taking the politics out of the discussion, I agree with your assessment of Kate and Wills compared with Meghan and Harry. Wills is about as exciting as a cold rice pudding and Kate achieved exactly nothing before she married. By contrast, Harry is funny, charismatic and interesting. I would say the same is true for Meghan. (Back to the politics) If we were a democracy, we could vote for the one that prefer to be our head of state instead of being lumbered with the one we are given.
Personally, I'd take democracy over hereditary power.

William and Kate are virtually the only ones in that outfit who have any genuine class at all. Miss Ellie would certainly recognize that (and I don't mean Dreary Reed).

Exactly. If the goal is causing the tabloids to go crazy like Charles, Diana and Camilla did, then I guess Harry and Markle will fit the bill. But is that the kind of bearing we're talking about??

Today The New Statesman magazine published contrasting views on Kate and Meghan:
"The Duchess of Cambridge is safely dull; her major qualification for the job is that she is uncommonly good at smiling. She seems passive, defined first by her husband, now by her children. I think she's absolutely beautiful, but am wary of this marriage. She knows virtually nothing about the British Royal Family and it all feels even more fairytale than royal marriages of the past. It does say something though that the family are willing to 'allow' an African American to marry into the Firm, much less a divorcee and a Catholic - so maybe things are changing. They do seem to love each other, but I am concerned she doesn't know what she's letting herself in for. Will she have to give up her acting career? Probably. They haven't been together very long so I do hope it all works out. She has worked - acting is bloody hard and I'm sure she had her own obstacles to overcome.
I'm afraid I'd take Will and Kate over infidelity, home wrecking, boring Charles anyday.

In the interview they gave after the engagement was announced, she pretty much said she had ticked the box of being on a long running show and wanted another role (from 11 minutes into the video in post #24).
She chose her words carefully, but the impression I was left with was that she views being Harry's wife as an extension/progression of her career.
