That is a really offensive way to refer to a woman. What specifically has Ms Markle done to deserve being called that?

She chose her words carefully, but the impression I was left with was that she views being Harry's wife as an extension/progression of her career.

I didn't see it that way at all. She was asked about the changes that were about to happen to her, including giving up her acting career, and she said she didn't see it as giving up anything, she was just opening a new chapter in her life. I thought that was a good answer and in no way came across as her marriage being a career move.

I think most people watching that interview with an open mind would find her intelligent, engaging and very much in love with Harry but if someone's aim is to run her down, then they will always find something in it to be negative about.

I think there is a lot of jealousy surrounding this young woman. I myself do envy that royal lifestyle, but I am not sure it is something to be envious of really. If she thinks that it is a career move to marry into the royal family.........nooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Bad idea! They can and will destroy you without consequence if they see fit.

I don't see Meghan as a predator at all - but I really don't believe she knows the extent of what she's marrying into. I will take her Kate Wills and Harry over awful Charles anyday. Now THAT is boring. Also completely disagree that he should ever be King given his past behaviour. I mean if the Queen wants to set an example - take that little privilege away from him.

I agree with this.

Some people will criticise me for saying his but I firmly believe it to be true. Not only is Meghan marrying into a dysfunctional family who can be unbelievably cruel and uncaring at times, she is also a biracial woman marrying into a family of white privilege in a country where there has been a surge in xenophobia since the Brexit referendum and in which there has always been a racist undertone. Many people will criticise her because they believe the Royal Family should remain white and Meghan doesn't conform to their perception of what a royal princess should be like.

Prince Harry himself alluded to this when he issued a statement regarding how she was being portrayed in the media and on social media. He said "Some of this has been very public — the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments." However, I think Prince Harry's awareness of the issue and his willingness to confront the negativity she may face is admirable and gives hope that their union will be successful.
