Anne was very hit-or-miss, absolutely adored her in season 8 but there were times that I couldn't stand her. Same goes for Laura.

Of course I wouldn't want to have a Knots without Mack, but I think he was my least favourite.

I absolutely Hated Kate. She was so annoying and boring. The fact that she wanted to sleep in Vals bed right after she was supposed to have been dead was just disgusting. She was pressuring poor Gary who just lost his wife tragically. She even stated that she wish Val never came back. How selfish can you be. Gary could have been her grandfather in Gregs words. She used the kids to get close to Gary. She had the nerve to leave and get pregnant and not say anything. Then wants to come back and have Molly meet her Father. She had to keep it in Cul de sac by dealing with Brian.

I fast forward through all her scenes.

I could not get connected with Ciji/Kathy. She had no personality. I was getting annoyed with all of the singing. She was another one who had to have Gary as Kathy. She stayed with Joshua's abuse. As, Kathy she even slept with Poor Ben. They should have left her dead as Ciji.

Amanda was the most irrelevant character. When she kept calling the wrong number. Then had Gary on a binge looking for her. The writers must have run out of stories. Then she happened to have been Married to crazy Danny. That was the most interesting twist in that story .. Again Amanda never had a chance with Texas Lover GARY.

I would say Joshua Rush was my least favourite.

Yes. I agree. He was so bi-polar. One minute he is quoting the bible the next he is being abusive. This is another character that the writers were'nt to sure about what to do with. They tried to make him relevant by putting him on that tv show. He eventually faded away... :bye:

Diana, for sure. She was annoying from the first few minutes of the pilot and then got worse with the years. The only time she was tolerable was during the couple of episodes in which she guest-starred in season 14.

I'll assume by "main cast," you refer to principal players (in the opening credits) as opposed to recurring characters. In that case I guess it would be a toss-up between Kenny Ward and Paige Matheson. Kenny was too one-dimensional, a victim of bad/neglectful writing. Paige suffered not from bad writing but from over-exposure. I felt the producers who created her were so enamored of their creation that they insisted on giving her too much screen time.

In recurring players I have several, but narrowed it to Linda Fairgate for the same reason I grew to dislike Paige--overexposure. They seemed to want to have this newbie make all the established characters look stupid via her scheming. "See how crafty she is? Isn't she clever? Oh, what will she do next??" Oh, give me a break.

If only the scheming had been more consistent and less impulsive. It was the worst character "development" I've ever seen on television. But she was a great victim, probably the best on-screen murder I've ever seen on primetime drama.

I think what makes Mack attractive is his confidence. He definitely represents a Man's man. He is not indisisive. He approaches conflict.

Mack is incorruptible, and a moral crusader against all injustice. The fact that his former best friend, Greg, has become the opposite of Mack in being very corruptible, a big businessman, and an arch pragmatist, is what makes their relationship so interesting.

I would vote for Ginger and Kenny as most disposable and they were disposed of. They were the least interesting of the original cast couples and clearly designed to be the young demographic appeal. But they always struck me as the most dated and conventional and the story line with Sylvia straight from daytime 098.

Vanessa from the final season. A character who came from nowhere to a lead role in a featured story line. My guess is she was forced on producers (agent who represented someone more prominent made it a two for one or more likely a CBS/WB executives girl friend) who had no choice but to create a 'star making' story line for her. She was given weak material and was terrible. The star flamed out, that was it for her.

There were lots of short termers who departed quickly but over all Knots did a great job of incorporating newbies and adding to the cast. Unlike Dallas which had the title but ceased to be Dallas at all in the end. I love how Ann was revived into a regular character and enjoyed her flop scam, on the streets stories. I was sad that the sadly funny story line ended so abruptly.
