Yup, there's just no political will in the US to change weapon laws because of the second amendent and people treating the constitution as a holy script instead of a legislative one.

I'm not a lawyer, much less an expert on the US Constitution, but surely the most reasonable interpretation of the second amendment is that the people as a group have the right to maintain a militia for defensive purposes. Inferring a right for individuals to collect an unlimited arsenal for private use strikes me as absurd.
