Strange how the time flies. I still think of her as she was when she sang the duet "Tell Him" with Celine Dion in the late 90s.

i read somewhere that she had filmed nudity for the owl and the pussycat than changed her mind on letting that be in the film and apparently destroyed the footage. my question is why even film it if you are uncomfortable doing it?

I respect Streisand as a talent, although I've never been a huge fan of her music. I prefer her more as an actress, although I haven't seen a lot of her films.

Apparently, married Streisand turned down Marlon Brando's romantic advances (although she's admitted cheating on Elliot Gould at some point) twice -- despite his being her childhood crush. They became lifelong friends, however.

I'm not always a fan of Streisand's early performances, as she seemed intent on caterwauling while often cheating the audience with laughing or speaking through her lyrics here and there. But as she got older, and her voice matured, it really did become an instrument.

Arguably, AMERICAN IDOL's finest discover, Kelly Clarkson, is Sun Taurus/Aries Rising -- like Streisand. (Different moon signs).

I like the music in Yentl, the song about losing the father really touched me (and the cinematography was beautiful). I liked The Way We Were as a melodrama, rather guilty pleasure because Redford never looked better, but honestly the film is about people I don't care, The long fingernails are a distraction in most of the films with her. Not a fan but I respect her too, excellent distinctive voice. As an actress I liked her more in comedies where she is relaxed.

I thought she was at her best in Meet the Fockers. She seems to have a natural knack for comedy and I thought she totally stole the show in that movie.

she was in the i think 2nd fockers movie not the 1st and what's up Doc? (1972) is no doubt a far better film and i haven't seen any of the focker films but the 1st. Prince of tides (1991) honestly i did not realize she's now 80 damn it's hard to believe it

I first saw her in What's Up, Doc? before I started following her career. Her range in both acting and singing is amazingly diverse.
