I binged the show a few months ago and while her role diminished as season one progressed, you still miss her presence in season two. Her confrontations with Sable had substance and grit. She was a strong adversary and their verbal spats had a spark to them whereas Sable just wiped the floor with Francesca every time they faced off. Connie brought colour to the canvas that was sadly not there in the second year.

I just watched this scene last night. It's definitely a standout of what's happened thus far. Barbara Stanwyck is a good actress, and I'm sure I'll miss her once she's gone. She's got a banter with Stephanie Beacham and I like that.

Those two characters were perfectly cast. I loved there spats together. Two great actor's. :)

From what i've heard it was more an issue of her declining health than money?!
In the interview with Bast it sounded like they even had to rewrite and bump her role down towards the middle or end of season 1, because she was in constant back pain and other issues, so work with her became quite difficult on many levels. :(

So that's why she left, health problems.

What a shame as she is quite an outstanding actor. One of the best characters in the show too. :)
