I was shocked to see this in the news. 68 is far too young to go. I had a love/hate thing going on with Jimmy. The early years were great and I enjoyed a lot of his early stories, both serious and comedic stories. He paired well with Sinbad, Kathy and Barry. Then at some point I felt burnt out with the character which is probably down to the production team who (as @James from London would say) turned it into the ‘Jimmy Corkhill Show’

What a day: Henry Kissinger, Jimmy Corkhill and Shane MacGowan.

And ex Labour Chancellor, Alistair Darling.

Eternal rest to Dean Sullivan. He provided some great Brookside as scallywag Jimmy Corkhill.

For those who are interested, Dean will be appearing on “Celebrity Antiques Road Trip” tonight at 7pm on BBC2.

I’m guessing that this will be his last ever tv appearance.
