You should watch the original show, not the remake. It's... something. I'm not sure how to rate it - it's sort of a soap but also "plot of the week".

Also, all characters end up having issues with addiction. My favourite is still Tori Spelling's issues which might or might not be one of the more laughable television hours ever. It's awful, you shouldn't watch it. Yes, it's wonderful you should watch it.
