Elena Verdugo, best known for being nurse Consuelo Lopez on the classic ABC medical series Marcus Welby, M.D. (alongside the late Robert Young as the title character, and James Brolin as Dr. Steven Kiley, Welby's partner), has passed on at 92.

She always had the best name.

I tend to confuse her with Billy Katt's mother, Perry Mason's assistant, who died this year as well but her death was overshadowed by Mary Tyler Moore's the day before.

Sadly to hear this. She was always a welcome presence.

But why wasn't her name Consuela? Consuelo seems masculine.
