Pictured: 'Harald Hitler', the Nazi leader's doppelganger spotted loitering at dictator's Austrian birthplace

An Adolf Hitler impersonator, complete with military garb and a cropped moustache, has been spotted close to the Nazi leader's birthplace prompting a police investigation.
The man, described as between 25 and 30-years-old, was seen dressed in a military style coat, white shirt and red tie in the Austrian town of Braunau am Inn.
The doppelgänger, who like Hitler has black hair brushed to one side, even posed for photos with passersby who noticed his uncanny resemblance to the dictator of the German Third Reich.

On at least one occasion, the man was photographed in front of the house where Hitler was born in what was then part of Austria-Hungary in 1889.
It appears the mysterious figure has frequented the town on a number of occasions with dozens of locals claiming they have seen the man wondering the streets.

He was spotted in a local bookstore browsing through magazines about World War Two.
The man is also said to have visited a local bar where he said his name was as 'Harald Hitler' and was overheard ordering an 'Austrian mineral water'.

One man told a local news paper: 'I have often seen this gentlemen in Braunau and wonder if this means something.'
Glorifying Hitler or the Nazis is a crime in Austria and police are now investigating the matter.
Austria's parliament voted in December to buy the three-storey house where Hitler was born, which the government has rented since 1972 to control how it is used.
The property has been the subject of intense debate in Austria with government paying owner, Gerlinde Pommer, rent from to keep it unused and empty.
The buyout has fueled speculation that the house will be knocked down to stop it becoming a shrine to the leader.
