We, the people.

When we concede, feel hopeless and think those in power will only do whatever they want; no matter what...we lose.

Large corporations are at the mercy of the majority. They cower when sales of their products slump or online blacklisting gains momentum. Stock markets too can crash at the will of the majority and that taxes the billionaires to the brink.

Dictators and oligarchs are generally nothing more than narcissistic cowards so when they feel threatened; even by the people they surround themselves with, they're powerless.

Peaceful protests are a good start but they need to be partnered with large scale, mobilized, targeted blacklisting of big brands (preferably those that fund big media and military production) and even using alternatives to the big social media platforms that support the dictator. It can be done, should be done, needs to be done....the majority just needs the intestinal fortitude to follow through with it. It's way easier than hails of gunfire and mortars in our faces that generations before us endured (sadly many in the world like Gazans still facing) so we have no excuses.

Hmmmm... Good idea.

Does that include the corporate narcissistic cowards who wanted the profits from the war in Ukraine??

Anyone who wants war in Ukraine instead of peace with Ukraine's sovereign territory intact, deserves all of the blacklisting in the world.

But Ukraine is never gonna win. America forced the war.
Yes. Senator Mitch McConnell said the people of Ukraine are "courageous and innocent" and "deserve our help," but "the most basic reasons for continuing to help Ukraine degrade and defeat the Russian invaders are cold, hard, practical American interests." If that's not an admission that the US sees this as a proxy war, I don't know what is.

Define "win" for me in this case please. Russia thought the war would be over in days and is why the Russian soldiers were sent with their dress uniforms to come home in as conquering heroes.

The brave Ukrainians are putting up one hell of a fight and Russia has suffered massive deaths and loss of equipment.

Don't be a defeatist with Ukraine or your own country. At least Trump is just a dumb lugnut, former game show host, surrounded by idiots who've just outplayed their opponents with savvy media blurbs to the masses of easily brainwashed racists who've longed for a savior so they can take their hoods off

Cause let's be real, it was never about grocery prices...it's racists wanting America white again.

The losses Russia has incurred pale in comparison to the number of innocent Ukrainians that have died. Politicians and defense contractors in the West have made it clear that they want perpetual war because they benefit from it. It's the same for all wars, which are designed to never end on purpose. The phony compassion from Western leaders is nauseating. They go on TV and say "look how courageous those dead Ukrainians are" as they count their profits and talk about how great the war is for Western interests.

Endless wars, warrantless surveillance, elimination of Habeas Corpus, attacks on whistleblowers and press freedoms, etc. have been a part of Republican AND Democratic Administrations since the turn of this century. The American public got to pretend they lived in a democracy because they could vote and they didn't have the National Guard in their front yard, but our so-called "representatives" in Washington DC never had our best interest at heart. For many people, it was about grocery prices. Sadly, politicians routinely break their campaign promises and betray their base. Chuck Schumer made it clear who the Dems served in 2016 when he said they would pick up two moderate Republicans for every blue-collar Dem they lost. Republicans aren't any better, as they're always giving tax cuts to the rich and going after programs vulnerable people rely on.

I would love to be an optimist rather than a cynic with a defeatist attitude, but it will take more than removing one wannabe dictator to fully restore our democracy.

You're right, but at this point it's not about fully restoring our democracy; it's about protecting what we have left.

Getting rid of Trump won't fix things overnight, but it's the best - and only place to start right now.

That's all well and good, but If Democrats don't get their shit together, another Trump-like figure will likely take his place again in the future.

And now the East Wing has been demolished to make way for Trump's ballroom:

Can´t avoid thinking about John Ross doing the same at SF on TNT´s version...

I think this is horrible. I know he's the current President. But The White House is a historical landmark and a museum. Shouldn't there be laws that prevents such buildings from being torn down like this?

I mean the East wing was 100 years old!

It's an intentional metaphor. He's determined to put his physical mark on The White House.

They probably never thought they'd need laws to prevent the sitting president from doing stuff like this.
