Why don't they cast actors anymore?

He's been acting for around 25 years, it was only a couple of weeks ago I watched him in an old PRIME SUSPECT story, for which he played a great part.

Danny Dyer is known for his hard man documentaries and being a tit in the papers more than for any acting. He acts only as a hobby, I think.

I only know of him as an actor, but despite who knows of him for what, you questioned why EastEnders were no longer casting actors. Looking at his filmography, Dyer has played 81 different roles in movie, TV and theatre. So I'm struggling to understand your point about not casting actors.


Also I don't see what the problem is when a show casts anyone who is known more for their singing or other talents. Why can't someone just be great in various job roles?

Plus some singers start learning to act when they film music videos to promote their songs.

Danny Dyer is an acquired taste but Ome is right he has a full CV of acting roles before EastEnders.
