Don't look at what Trump is doing, look at what happened decade ago. I know back then masked government officials weren't murdering American citizens but still that should be your focus and not what Trump is doing right now.

The gendered view is on you.

The "gendered view is on" me?

The foolishly rigid purity test that they place even on people who agree with them, is a big, self-defeating problem.

Particularly for (but not, ahem, exclusive to) "leftist" women. And it's ultimately destructive to the cause.

Frank Underwood said:
I see. So the 3.1 million ICE deportations that occurred between 2009 and 2017 were fair and above board, as were the cages that were built in 2014. Good to know.

Apparently, that just doesn't matter.

It's that kind of subjectivity from "the left" that got Trump reelected.

Yes.

It was also the apathy of those who chose not to vote because they felt both sides were bad

Both sides are bad.

But Trump is far worse than any other option - ANY other option.

This exactly! It's why it's so annoying when any criticism of Trump is deliberately side-tracked into a discussion about what Biden did wrong or what Obama should be criticised for, anything instead of looking at how Trump is murdering people and destroying your constitution.

I think what Trump is doing now is far more relevant and far worse than anything the previous 2 former Presidents did.

Some people might be interested to know that when the DNC emails were revealed a few years ago that higher-ups in the Democratic party were discussing the fact that they wanted to sabotage Bernie Sanders' candidacy to the degree that they preferred that Trump -- a man they despised -- win the presidency.

And why? Because they thought Sanders might actually try to fix the economy for the working-class, and they correctly assumed Trump, despite his faux-populist rhetoric, would not.

So there's lots of blame to go around.

Trump is currently murdering people and you are trying to shift the focus of this discussion to Bernice Sanders' failed Presidential campaign from over 10 years ago?

Of course he does. The aim is not to talk about Trump's disgraceful actions and to instead make it all about Biden and Obama.

You are a liar. No one is attempting to "not talk about Trump's disgraceful actions." Let alone @Frank Underwood .

This is why you always lose your arguments (yet never realize it): your endless, endless straw-woman argumentation.

But it sounds like somebody touched a nerve.

And yet whenever it's raised, what Biden/Harris/Obama (delete as applicable) did is your standard response instead of engaging directly in the discussion about Trump.

And yet.... not everyone can contain the exchange to your preferred limitations.

Were there deaths during Obama's (and Biden's) deportation campaigns? (Deportations which much greater in number than in Trump's first term). Yes, there were.

But Trump is more overtly obnoxious about it, like everything else he does.

Why don't both matter??

Objectivity -- it's not for everybody, and sometimes even deeply resented.

You're twisting my words. But I think you know that.
You're making excuses for one side over another. But I think you know that.

My "aim" is to point out partisan hackery, of which you're an expert. I've criticized Trump's disgraceful actions many times, but as awful as what's happening in Minneapolis is, I don't understand why people think it's worse than Gaza, Ukraine, Libya, Syria, Yemen, etc. They're all murderers, including Trump. And yes, Trump is technically more relevant because he's the current president. However, the fact remains that your accusation that I "defend Trump" and "give him a pass" is exactly what you've done for Dems during their time both in and out of the White House. Your constant projection and gaslighting don't work on me. One of the reasons I bring them up is because of the utter hypocrisy and double standards that are often on display here. You ultimately get blood on your hands no matter who you vote for, which is why I'm "apathetic" when it comes to voting.

Don't look at what Trump is doing, look at what happened decade ago. I know back then masked government officials weren't murdering American citizens but still that should be your focus and not what Trump is doing right now
And if it were a decade ago, you would be making excuses for the murderous Dem in office like you always do. I, on the other hand, lump Trump in with the rest of the thugs.

Oh, and of course there's this gem: Obama Administration Claims Unchecked Authority To Kill Americans Outside Combat Zones

You just did it again.

Everybody is agreeing with you about Trump's behavior.
People like that can never understand how one thing relates to another. They can't fathom how a party that screws its base and sabotages one of its candidates because losing to Trump is preferable just might play a role in where we are today. Nor do they care what sins presidents of the past have made that may have been more egregious, or that their unconstitutional actions in the name of the "war on terror" paved the way for Trump to go even more extreme. Even though having said all that still shows that you find Trump to be a murderous thug in his own right, the fact that a post about Trump is nuanced means you're "defending" him. Instead, you're supposed to shout "Trump bad!"

What you seem to be doing is hijacking every thread that is critical of Trump to attempt to turn them into attacks on Biden, Harris or Obama. It you want to have a go at the Democrats, then why not start a thread to discuss what those Democrats have done in the past unless your aim to distract from what Trump is doing? It's like KGB Active Measures which include inventing false equivalences saying everyone is bad so the original target doesn't seem so bad in comparison.

I don't know who are the people you are suggesting think ICE action in Minnesota is "worse than Gaza, Ukraine, Libya, Syria, Yemen, etc." because they are not comparable situations and are bad for very different reasons. Just because people are angry about ICE officials murdering American, doesn't mean they are also not angry about killings going on elsewhere in the world.
