My creepy Falcon Crest dream

A couple of years ago, I posted about dream I'd had in which the Channings and Giobertis were dining on the terrace at dusk of a Tuscany Valley bistro when all of a sudden, like something out of Hitchcock, a group of very large birds swept down and attacked them, possibly carrying one of them off into the air for several feet.

It was quite dramatic and spooky.

Which season would this serve as a great finale? (Or perhaps the entire series' ending?)

And what would the explanation be? (I'd like to connect it to that collection of nuclear waste Jacqueline Perrault buried under the vineyards which I also made up but they never actually did).

Seems more like a twist for Abby's final season of Knots Landing. She swindled Gary and Karen out of Lotus Point, which as we know was adjacent to an actual toxic waste dump. Turns out she wiggled out of the investment at the last minute and ran for her life once she realized Galveston Industries's toxic waste had spawned eighty-foot seagulls and squirrels the size of school buses. As Abby (and her son) pull away in the limo, we see Karen and Gary cowering in fear as an enormous "bird-shaped" shadow blocks out the sunlight.

I'm assuming you know that the 1880s mansion they filmed FC at was originally called The Parrot Mansion in real life -- which is why they had a parrot in the stained glass and a "P" over the threshold.

Apparently, that gave them the idea to called the show "Falcon Crest".

No, I did not.

So, what if The Parakeet, a descendant of the Parrot Dynasty, came back to Falcon Crest to, well, take it back? Perhaps the first Agretti stole it from Parrot, before the first Gioberti stole it from Agretti.

Maybe they could have arrived at Richard's wake, to close season 7. One of them then takes Angela to the monastrey, where the bearded man is waiting.

Yes, smells like Season 7's finale.

And the giant birds are soon followed up by giant scorpions emerging from the Tuscany reservoir and surrounding the mansion. Only Emma isn't frightened.

Snarky IMHO your idea would probably have fitted in most comfortably in either of the two Freilich seasons; with season 7 more ideal inclusive of: ninjas, the 13, a dictator with a vast estate, special effects goings on and not forgetting the evil nurse poisoning her patients, to complement your terrifying creatures. It would be almost like a doomsday scenario, arriving in the Tuscany Valley.


Rosemont (the 13’s boss) is having tea with Angela, in the Falcon Crest living room. Lance is also there, (a scene from season 7, 1987 – ’88):

Angela: “All of this power you’ve given him…..”

Rosemont: “Richard Channing, your son.”

Angela: “……..He wants to use it to ruin Falcon Crest and to ruin me and when he is through with us he’ll start on you!”

Rosemont: “Well, I consider myself warned.”

Angela: “I haven’t finished.”

Rosemont: “Indeed.”

Angela: “Now you’ve interfered in my personal business. I never allow that.”

Rosemont: “I promise you I had no intention of interfering.”

Lance: “Trying to kill me counts as interfering, don’t you think Mr. Rosemont?”

Angela: “This battle is between my son and myself and if you help him you will make yourself my enemy.”

Rosemont: “And I understand you are a formidable one.”

She smiles at him.

Rosemont: “However I have always had a certain appreciation for a worthy opponent. Indeed if you and I ever find ourselves in that position I might enjoy it.”

Angela: “I doubt it!”

Could these gigantic birds and scorpions have been included in the cartels final storyline, from season four? The bugged falcon was the omen. Gustav and his dad had their people farming them, especially for their ambitious take over.

Perhaps Hitchcockian bird attacks could happen repeatedly, over a period of years, always involving a different species until, finally in the series finale, all of Apollo's falcon friends descend on the Channings, pluck out their eyes, and eat them.
