Obama-Best President of My Lifetime and One of the Best Ever

But Obamacare and the likely public option and single payer system that will follow will be because of Obamacare. </p><p></p><p>Staying classy and never, ever, ever taking the bait and getting down and dirty with the bottom feeders. Despite the vile, racist birther nonsense and really a giant <strong>"F* U Ni*"</strong> (now the driving force of Trump supporters and his make America <strong>white </strong>again slogan) attacks on his wife, family and desperate lies meant to feed the narrative of untrustworthy black man that set off the fear of Bertha and Bob's of Butte Montana, those people who only see black people on TV in shows like Empire and in prison news stories. Never has a sitting President faced "you lie" catcalls at a Sate of the Union, or actual elected Senators questioning his legitimacy to serve as head of state, based on the color of his skin and nothing more. Obama has taken a Spock like approach to it all and showed us what real leadership is, even under fire.</p><p></p><p>I wish he had been more progressive and not given up long ago trying to find consensus with far-right Republicans. Just as I think the Democrats should write them off as lost causes and let them shrink into oblivion and focus on building a winning coalition and containing them as much as possible and turn them into Grandpa Simpsons, loud, annoying but powerless and harmless, totally inert political entities. Wall Street got off the hook for its crimes that caused the great recession he inherited when he took office. Prism is not fully dismantled and the great surveillance state still thrives.</p><p></p><p>When Hillary takes office on January 20 she will be following one of the greatest and I hope, and pray as history is made again, she builds on his legacy and follows his model.</p></blockquote><p></p>
