Would anybody have asked to see John McCain's birth certificate? Or Mitt Romney's? No, but they sure as hell wanted to see Barack Hussein Obama's. And none of that existed before Obama, right? I can vouch for that. My step-mom is receiving health insurance thanks to Obamacare, and is now cancer free as a result. Obviously single payer would be better because it would ensure health care coverage for all, but Obamacare gives us a place to start. What concerns me, though, is that Hillary attacked Bernie over universal health care during the primaries. She had originally planned on making tweaks to Obamacare before supporting the public option as a concession to Sanders. If elected, I hope she actually fights for it like she says she will. Yes. And the Democratic nominee is a woman who supported her husband's policies of don't ask/don't tell, as well as the Defense of Marriage Act. This is the same woman who used dog whistle language like "super predators," which is commonly used to describe black criminals. She also said that they needed to be "brought to heel." The crime bill supported by the Clintons led to mass incarcerations, mostly of African Americans. There was also a time when both Obama and Clinton said marriage is between a man and a woman, and they're supposed to be Democrats. It's only recently that they came around on the issue. In a nutshell. Unfortunately, I believe Wall Street, the surveillance state, the police state, and the military industrial complex will all continue to thrive under Trump or Clinton as well.
