I enjoyed his understated presence in the series, and fondly remember him too from Shine On Harvey Moon.

Dr Legg was an EastEnders legend. He never really had many storylines of his own but played an important part in those of other characters. I've not watched EastEnders for a very long time but when I think of the series, he is one of the characters that comes to mind.

The first one that comes to mind for me is his decision not to tell Colin about his MS, which seemed very controversial at the time, and which was rooted in Dr Legg's belief that he was doing the right thing.

I also think of his powerlessness with the cot death of baby Hassan, which really strengthened that story.

Aw. They brought him back a few years ago for a timely anti-semitic storyline which was tied into his back story. He was dying, and then Lofty and Mary the Punk showed up for his funeral on the show's 34th anniversary. It was all very touchingly done.

I loved that. Baby Annie was a Police woman if I recall.

I always remember him with Pauline and Lou. I'm sure he had a sidekick doctor as well who was involvd with Michelle? Maybe his nephew. Plusof of course the cot death story with Sue.

He lived to a good old age and lucky to be fit enough to return to work at 92.
