2, 3, 4 would have to be at the top. 6, 7 (awful) and 9 (unwatchable aside from Gregory Harrison) are at the bottom.

The sixth tasted quite a bit. 30% considered it better, and it also stopped the loss of audience of the fifth.

Falcon Crest seasons
1. Season 3 - Very intense, Julia on the run is great, Geoffrey Lewis is good. Terry arrives. Pamela arrives. The plane finale is great. This is just peak Falcon Crest.
2. Season 4 - Love Maggie's parents, Cole and Melissa, Julia’s return. Lorraine and Lance. Greg arrives. The finale is great. Terry, Joel are fun. More Pamela! I actually like the stuff with Anne Archer and Jonathan Frakes too. Underrated season.
3. Season 2 - Cole and Joanna Cassidy. Carlo, Julia. Melissa and Lance are great. Iconic plotline and finale.
4. Season 1 - Iconic season. Started everything. A really strong start. Emma is a standout from the beginning. Everyone is great. Cole, Vickie, Mario are all fun and youthful.
5. Season 5 - very cozy season. Lance saving Peter is great. Peter in general is great. Maggie amnesia was fun. Jeff Wainwright arrives. Dwayne, Apollonia, Christopher. Julia at the convent. Bye bye Robin. Greg and Morgan Fairchild are good. The earthquake is good. Another underrated season that is pretty fun to watch and takes the characters seriously. Robin is pretty annoying though. I wish Cole and Melissa had better luck.
6. Season 7 - very creative season. More warm than 6. Melissa in the mine shaft was great. All the weird illuminati stuff with the 13 is really weird and interesting. I like that they just went insane this season. Maggie is really great this season. I like her and Chase's military friend when they interact. Lauren Hutton was fun. At least they tried to bring Chase back at the end. Lol
7. Season 6 - also crazy and riveting. The psychic guy, Kim. Definitely eviscerated the show though, ruining Chase and getting rid of Cole. Feels evil. There's good stuff though. Meredith Baxter. Tony. Chase's computer center. Crazy Melissa is fun. The Del Oro Spa.
8. Season 9 - crazy and riveting. Weird but definitely memorable. By the end it is really cool when Angela comes back. Complements the darkness of the rest of the season well.
9. Season 8 - Emma and the author probably my favorite plotline. I actually do like this season. Big mistake killing Melissa, it got boring fast. There's lots of good moments with the old characters. But it real
ly does feel lost.

I agree with your rankings almost exactly -- except that I can tolerate Season 6 (imperfect that it is) better than I can Season 5.

The reason why I'm so fond of season 5 is the introduction of Peter Stavros and the hot and cold dynamic of the relationship he had with Angela. I also thought it was the season that Greg was the most interesting and although I wasn't particularly fond of the Jordan Roberts storyline, I thought it was quite daring for Falcon Crest to cover child abuse.

According to the original scripts, Stavros was going to be in a few episodes. He would die from an incurable disease but it worked so well that the scripts had to be redone.
He fit in so well with the team that he was invited to the 200 episode party, although it was not thought that he would return for the eighth season.

it's always a toss between season 2 and 3...
S2 - because I liked Cole with Katherine Demery, the exploration of Richard's past, the murder mystery, Angela staging an affair for Maggie and of course the fantastic cliffhanger
S3 - evil Angela tries to keep Chase incompetent as a partner in Falcon Crest, with disastrous consequences. The cabin fire drama before the season finale cliffhanger, it was high-octane soap
S1 - so underrated
S4 - same as with Dynasty, for the most part it still looked like original Falcon Crest
S5 - same as with Dynasty I don't remember much of it but at least most of the original cast was in it.
S9 - the nasty FalconCresters who had ruined so many lives now get a taste of their own medicine (and "who cares about wine?")

S6 - too much Kim Novak, Melissa's singing career makes Appolonia look like masterpiece theatre. When Falcon Crest got bad it was almost unwatchable.

In an all-out bid to bolster slipping ratings, “Falcon Crest” producers are revamping the show to make the story lines sexier and steamier than ever before.
Torrid new romances are in store for Maggie, Lance, Greg and even Angela — plus there’ll be a glittering array of new series regulars, including Cesar Romero, Morgan Fairchild and “Hill Street Blues" costar Ken Olin.
The execs plans are all hush-hush — but The ENQUIRER has a sneak preview of what you'll see as the ' new season opens.
Just a year ago. The ENQUIRER reported that producers were confident the show would continue to climb in the ratings and even challenge “Dallas” and “Dynasty” forth number-one spot.
But not only has “Falcon Crest” failed to make it to the top, it's even slipped in the ratings, falling from seventh place in the 1983-84 season to number '10 this. past' season.
