Legendary Australia leg-spinner Shane Warne, one of the greatest cricketers of all time, dies of a suspected heart attack aged 52.

Legendary Australia leg-spinner Shane Warne, one of the greatest cricketers of all time, has died of a suspected heart attack aged 52.

Warne took 708 Test wickets, the second most of all time, in 145 matches across a stellar 15-year career.
He won the 1999 50-over World Cup and claimed 293 dismissals in 194 one-day internationals between 1993 and 2005.

After retiring from international cricket in 2007, he continued to play franchise Twenty20 cricket until 2013.

I've just woken to this NEWS, as will most Australians. What makes this so terribly difficult to comprehend was the passing of another Aussie cricket legend, Rod Marsh. I can honestly say I'm so fortunate to have lived in an era of watching the legends of the game like Marsh, Lillie, Thomo and others. Then along comes the likes of Warnie.

A dark cloud will descend over Australia today. My heart breaks for his children and parents and I hope they take comfort in the fact how universally loved he was.

I have found myself thinking a lot about him today, he really was one of the best and when you see the tributes from the great and the good of cricket around the world you know he was something a little bit special

There was a lovely clip on the news today of English fans singing to him "we wish you were English" after an Ashes loss

Very sad that his last message was regarding Rodney Marsh - sad day for Australian cricket, Shane Warnes come along once in a generation, his legacy will live on

I don’t know much about Cricket living here in the states but I know of him and his accomplishments. Very sad news!
My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.
