When I watched Flamingo Road for the first time Stella Stevens' Lute-Mae was my favorite on the show. It's nice that Flamingo Road is mentioned now when it comes to Stella Stevens' death, Variety calls Flamingo Road "the esteemed (for what it was) NBC series", which I think is meant as a compliment.

This is sad news. She was in one of my favourite films, The Poseidon Adventure, and of course fantastic as Lute Mae Sanders in the great 1980s prime time soap Flamingo Road.

That catfight was better than any of the ones we saw on Dynasty. Maybe it doesn’t hold up watching it now but it’s bad in that classically bad but still entertaining kind of way. Perhaps a rematch under Nuremberg Judo rules would’ve gone quite differently!

I browsed through Stella's filmography, and it seems I've only seen her in THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE --- which is perhaps my favorite of the disaster genre films --- and FLAMINGO ROAD --- which, I must say, I haven't seen too much of. I've got GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS!, the Elvis movie she did, and THE NUTTY PROFESSOR in my collection, but I've yet to watch them.
What I have seen of her work, however, leads me to the impression that she was a good, natural actress instead of just a blonde beauty.
I need to see more of her one day.

This is so sad to hear, i remember seeing Stella Stevens from Flamingo Road, but when i read her fiilmgraphy i noticed she also played in one of my favorite movie "The Poseidon Adventure" and in one of Elvis Presley's movie "Girls Girls Girls".

I mostly remember Stella Stevens from Flamingo Road, but I also saw her in an oddball movie with Elsa Lanchester and Roddy Macdowall called Arthur. Has anyone seen that?

If it's a CBS show and owned by Warners it's certainly possible that it's part of the plethora of old shows getting remastered to HD.

I've just checked and although it was shown on NBC, Flamingo Road was produced by Lorimar. So the rights to it are owned by Warner Bros., so it's possible it's getting remastered like Dallas and Knots Landing.

Yes, I'd love to see this series again. I don't think it's been shown in the UK (at least not on terrestrial television) since it was first broadcast in the 1980s.
