Over time, we have diversified into other areas of television discussion. We will likely never stray too far from our roots, but it does help draw in new members to offer the opportunities to discuss other television shows.

Do we have the option to move around the order of things on a user by user basis?

Ultimately we are looking to attract new members and unfortunately, we don't have the controls to allow members to change how the forums look in terms of where each forum is positioned.

The five main US prime-time soaps (and Dallas TNT) are the only series to be given their own named forum here. So they're still being treated very lovingly indeed, no matter where on the page they are. Having them lower down hasn't done anything to stop their traffic, so I think it's good to have a change and draw people's attention to other areas.

Do we have any more new requests on features that were on the old version and are missing on this version?

Is anyone disappointed with the new look?

I don't know if you had this on the old version or how feasible it is but an option to re-skin the site to a dark mode version of the site colours in preferences would be useful. I tend to browse most sites in dark mode these days as I find it much better than white glare off the screens (using them so much.)

We are heading for a new upgrade very soon and the dark option will return.

The optional forum option would be nice. Apart from that, it's all tinkety-tonk!

Really a small request and no big deal, but could we get a jump to beginning or end at the top of threads as well as at the bottom?

There is a "Jump to new" option just above the top post, on the right.

Clicking this will take you to the first new post since you last read the thread. Is that the kind of thing you meant?

The only thing is it tends to disappear if you've read the entire thread.

No... sorry guess I didn't describe it right. On the bottom of each thread we can move forward a page or back a page, or back to the beginning of the thread or jump to the end. That's want I meant.

Like I said, not a big deal.

Mmm, im not seeing that option @Mel O'Drama :confuse:

I would like the option that clicking on a thread takes you to the last page (as in old forum) rather than having to go the page 1, scoll to bottom then click on link to get last page
(does that make any sense - or just to me!!?? lol)

When I click on the title of a thread, it automatically takes me to the first unread post. If nothing has been posted since I last peeked in, it just takes me to the last thing posted. I remember that also happening in the soapchat days.

Out of interest, what devices and browsers at you using.

On my phone I have the same issue, but on my laptop using Chrome I have the same options (Previous; Next or page number) at the top and bottom of the page.

That probably means you have read all the posts in the thread. At the top right, the box that probably says "Watch" or "Unwatch" will change to "Jump to new" if there are new posts in the thread.

Like Daniel, though, I'm usually just taken to the first unread message when I click into a thread.

Ah. That explains it. I almost always am using Chrome on my phone. Hardly ever log in on a laptop or a PC.

This is what we have to look into once we have the final upgrade done and dusted.

  • Optional Forums
  • Dark Skin
  • Halloween/Holiday Themes
  • Moods
  • Who Viewed Thread
  • Sidebar Polls
  • More Reactions

I'm not sure what we can do with the mobile access, there was something called Tapatalk that we had before the crash. Does anyone remember that and do you think it would be a nice addition to the forums?

I remember it and think it was useful but didn’t use it. Friends of mine did though :)

I remember it, and I thought it was a great tool for viewing the site on a mobile. It was much more intuitive and user-friendly than viewing the site as a mobile web-page and was great when it came to things like uploading images from the phone to the site.

I've got used to not having it (and I don't view the site on my mobile much anyway) but I do remember greatly missing it when it first disappeared.
