Lying comes in many different variations. Lying about being raped is so far from a lie about your age or well, pretty much all other things. All people lie, but not all tell enormous and malicious lies.

Well, of course. But some are indeed enormous and malicious. Especially when false victim narratives provide such currency.

I hope you don't think a majority of rape accusations are made up!

She was badly beaten. There was evidence at the scene

Then why not accuse them of the things they could prove? Drugged or not, hooker or not - most humans don't like getting beaten to a pulp.
Was she treated in a hospital? Does she have a history of sadomasochism? Previous police reports?
Maybe this shouldn't have been about rape, or at least not as the angle of the accusastions.

No this is not an S&M freak who got beaten away from their limit. This is about a woman who got trashed because the men involved felt like it.

I bet the prosecutor believed it would be easy to prove to the court and therefore didn't bother to charge the men with much else.

I have a slight problem with this prosecutor. Whenever she's on TV to talk about juridical issues, she tends to sound more like an activist than a lawyer.

I read that she's in a little fight with professor in crime, Leif GW Persson, over this case. I am not surprised. He is known for being very objective rather than subjective. And he is not at all surprised that the court could not sentence the men for rape because evidence & the victim's side of things could not be proven the way they stated it.
