Today I watched Podcast News, an episode from The Simpsons' last season German dubbed. In this episode there was a former soap actress called Vivienne St. Charmaine who fell in love with Grandpa. Her biggest role was on a soap called Falcon Landing. I was curious about who voiced Vivienne St. Charmaine in the original and it was Morgan Fairchild! Anybody watched this episode?

Morgan looked stunning when she was on FALCON CREST as Jordan Roberts. Fairchild said in a 1985 interview that when she was first offered the part she was hesitant because she felt that by the producers saying Jordan Roberts was an attorney that she'd be boring, toting papers, and wearing suits. When she was told that they wanted the character to be glamorous and be involved in some intrigue, she was more enthusiastic.
Fairchild said she was hopeful that Jordan would become one of those headline-grabbing scene-stealers that the FALCON CREST people would feel the couldn't live without. But, as we all know, Jordan didn't make it passed the end of Season 5.

This is my favorite of Morgan's FALCON CREST-related photos I've found. I like photos where the stars are reading scripts, and as many here will understand, I like that I see Marilyn Monroe hanging on the wall in the background.

I liked The Seduction right up until the end where I feel it falls a bit flat. The movie is very aesthetically pleasing however so I've actually watched it more than once.

Morgan Fairchild has had a curious, impressive career. She's much more than "famous for being famous", and yet not famous for anything specific. She's worked regularly for decades, without finding any particular success. She's known for being beautiful but honestly I'm not even sure if she's actually beautiful or a splendid construction of hair and makeup.
She made her debut in 1970 and is still working, having outlasted far more talented and beautiful contemporaries; so she did something right.

I wonder how average viewers of a certain age (not die-hard soap or TV fans like in this forum) see Morgan Fairchild? Do they know her name or just her face? And what series do they associate Morgan with? I think she will be associated to soaps, but do people know which ones?

Sadly I think most younger viewers now only know her as Abby on Knots Landing. I notice I have to keep trying to explain the difference between Morgan Fairchild and Donna Mills back in the 80s

I would think younger viewers would most likely recognize Morgan as Chandler's mom on FRIENDS.

Yes, I think it's summed up by what Barbara Fan said earlier. Morgan Fairchild is an intelligent, nice person and a professional (which helps) and I noticed early on that she was better at comedy than drama -- which is kind of unusual. And, yes, her "looks" have always looked sprayed on, but at least she's consistent.
She is who she is and, for better or worse, she stays true to it.

Yes, it's an interesting contradiction about her. Her entire imagery is one of glamorous artifice, and yet she still comes across as a genuine, nice person.
When she turned up on MURPHY BROWN early in that show's run, I couldn't help but notice that her comedy skills were much better than Candace Bergen's (who was both wooden and ham-fisted at first, although she relaxed into the part eventually). Pity Morgan never found her own ongoing success in a sitcom.
I enjoyed her on Flamingo Road, Paper Dolls, and Falcon Crest. I also enjoyed her daytime TV return as Sydney Chase on The City. The Falcon Crest role was meaty, given the mental health traumas her character experienced.

Morgan Fairchild would have been a natural choice for any Dallas role - She was born in Dallas, Texas Feb 3, 1950,
as Patsy Anne McClenny. I always thought she should have been brought back to continue as Jenna Wade.
No disrespect to Sheree J Wilson (Who I really liked in Walker Texas Ranger), but MF could have been a good April Stevens.

So apparently my father remembers Morgan Fairchild being on DYNASTY, and a recently-released "Remembering the '80s" magazine refers to her as a star on KNOTS LANDING.
Like, I can understand my father. He never watched DYNASTY, and he remembers Morgan Fairchild as a sexy TV star that "looked" like someone that would be on DYNASTY.
